i am now convinced that canadian tire money is the greatest marketing tool ever invented.

why?

because no matter how hard you try, you can NEVER get rid of it. for example: i had $1.25 in CT money in my wallet and used it when i was in the store last time. my total was $40 and i gave the cashier my 2 twenties and my CT money. she then gives me $1.25 in change and another 40cents in canadian tire money.

i only ended up spending 85cents of the original $1.25 that i had.

Confusedcratch:

now i am stuck with this. and the next time i use it, i will just get more back.

but i will keep trying to spend it, and therefore, i will spend more money in their store.

marketing genius.
Is it possible to be Canadian and NOT have Canadian Tire money stuffed somewhere in a kitchen drawer??

My vote is no.
Pay by credit card or debit.
i think they still give you the money, it comes out of a separate drawer
Yeah, pretty sure you still get it if you pay debit or Credit.
Had to look it up - you still get it if you pay by debit, but the only credit cards they'll give it out on are the "Options MasterCard" or the Canadian Tire Credit Card.

Whoops! I better source that.

There used to be places (third party vendors) who would accept Canadian Tire Money at face value if you purchased their goods. Mind you, they didn't give you a smaller amount of Canadian Tire Money in return...
Many vendors on the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory located near Belleville, Ontario accept it.

And there are a couple of restaurants in Kingston that will accept it...
I always hand mine to the person right behind me in line.
