I don't think I missed any (maybe I did).... but just shows how much more variety there is this time. Also, if they play Looking For A Place To Happen they would have played the entire "Fully Completely" album over this tour...

Theres no doubt that this Tour and the summer tour are way better than the IBE tour.

I saw three shows on that tour, and was pretty dissapointed in the lack of variety...in fact let me see if I can find my old post:

Oh how things have changed.

That is a pretty cool stat. I'm impressed that they've already surpassed the number of songs this early on. Those shows at the Phoenix could not have been any better. I wonder if they'll settle into more of a regular groove once they begin playing larger venues in 07?

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but if you take out the 11 songs of WC that weren't around for the IBE tour, you end up with 60. That's only 3 more. But I do realize it's extremely early in the tour and that number will likely grow.

Yeah but you could do that with the IBE tour as well. Take the 14 songs that weren't around before then from the 57 total and you get 43. There is still an increased number of songs being played so far.

And the setlists have been top notch.

I do hope they continue this way and not settle into any sort of "regular groove" as puckstopper said.

Yeah, I was a little worried about repetitivity after looking over setlists from the last arena tour, since I'm going to three shows on this one. I think (and hope) the setlist trend will continue, though there probably won't be quite as much variation as the club shows are for HARDCORE fans, and arena shows have a lot more production behind them.

There also aren't as many multiple night shows on the arena tour, however they are playing a lot of multiple shows in single provinces so that's a positive sign.

The summer tour setlists were pretty widely varied, too, and those shows were spread all over the place. Again, though, not nearly as much production behind them.

I was going to mention it, as it was one of the more common rarites from the IBE tour I think. One of my favourites.

I thought 57 songs played in one tour was amazing. For those mucisians out there it is no easy task to have that large a set list including all the coordination for sound, lights, etc. 71 tunes is beyond amazing. A pox on all those other bands that play the same set every night.

No offense but its not as impressive as it sounds…

After 78 shows on Widespread Panic’s 2006 Tour they have played 148 different songs, and only one has been played 10 times or more. And if you’ve ever seen WSP live you know each song is tighter than the next (no missed lyrics, etc…).

I’m not knocking the current variety of tunes in the Hip’s live rotation. I still remember the days of seeing the same Bobcaygeon into Nautical Disaster combination in 4 straight shows back in April 1999 (Santa Cruz, SF, SD, and LA).

However, a band of their caliber should be able to pull out at least another 20+ gems from the vault over the course of a yearlong tour.

Well, when most bands play essentially the same set every night, I'll gladly take the amount of variation that the Hip seem to be offering these days. People would be pissed if they abandoned all the hits, y'know.

Here's a rundown of the songs played in Calgary. Considering we got 54 different songs compared to the 57 on the IBE tour I'd say we did pretty well:
