Does anyone no the policy regarding cameras at the upcoming shows in CGY.. Ticketmaster site says no cameras/recording devices. I saw the hip last year at the whiskey, and they let us take cameras in at that show.. Got some great shots!
Just don't want to show up to the show sat/mon/wed and find that they take the camera or something like that..
can't wait till the show tomorrow!
The Phoenix shows were also listed as no cams/recording devices but that was not the case - just nothing professional (or as MAv told us, "nothing bigger than your head!"
There were lots of people with cams at all four Toronto shows.
Does "nothing professional" mean no digital SLR's? I noticed Trevor said something about that in another thread. My little point and shoot digital is crap for concerts so of course I'd like to use the better camera if I could, and I did use it at shows during the Summer Fling. Just curious....
Trevor interpreted it that way, but there were two or three people in the front row of the show last night with digital SLRs.

I've always been told that if you can't take the lens off, it's okay.
Luckily I'll be parked nearby if I need to ditch the camera.

No problem, point and shoot it is. And really that's not necessarily a bad thing, considering it weighs a LOT less than the DSLR.
I was thinking the same thing, there was a girl right near me on Wednesday who had a DSLR with "kit" lense. I noticed cause im in the market to buy one..
I considered bringing my Canon S2 -- it takes damn near DSLR quality pics, but I just couldnt be bothered carrying it around. And when you have guys like Trevor standing next to ya taking amazing pics, no need.
Now, I wonder on the arena tour if Ill be able to bring my camera, row 5 - should be about perfect for taking pics.

I really wanted to do what you did on NYE in Hamilton and show up in Vancouver for some or all of those shows because Nov. 4 is my birthday and what better than to be at a Hip show, right? But unfortunately, I couldn't work that out, so Montreal it is.

Please do me a favour and save your money. The Kit lens really isn't worth it. Go to a place that sells the body only, pay a couple hundred more and get some better glass. Your shots will thank me later. Plus, the chances of you keeping a better lens and using it more than a kit lens are ten fold.

Speaking of kit lenses... anyone want to buy a Canon 18-55mm (the one that comes with the XTi kit)? Had I been thinking clearly, like Trevor just suggested, I would have gone body only and picked up a nice zoom (metal mount, none of this plastic crap) zoom in the range of 18-80 or so.
Oh well. Hindsight is 20/20. PM me if you're looking for a cheap lens.
