The lineup for the SARS benefit show featuring the Stones was just announced. AC/DC, Guess Who, Sam Roberts, Sass Jordan (wtf?), along with many others will be featured, with many more apparently still to be announced over the next few weeks. So far no Hip, wonder if they'll do it or if they've been approached. With Gord's love of TO, you would think its a shoe in. July 30th is the date, $21.50 are tickets and go on sale Friday, June 27th
Q107 was saying that rush and U2 are rumored
edit; why the hell would they hold it on a wednesday night?
where are they holding it?
I'm afraid I must regrettably inform you that Justin Timberlake is also part of this event.
ah yes. Mr. Timberlake, how can I forget to mention him? makes the Sass Jordan addition look like a great idea. the concert will be held at Downsview park in Toronto, which is the same place where the Pope had his gig last year. they're expecting 800,000 people to attend
It's going to be at Downsview.

I didn't see the post above me, sorry.
U2, Stones and AC/DC
O god, I have to see this. I am going to try!
I think the Hip will play. As for U2 I think its a stretch. The rumour about U2 playing started at the U2 interference website, so I am not to sure how accurate it is. But I sure hope they play.
You guys sure do seem to get a lot of good shows over there in Canada....
Personally, this show is way to huge with way to many people. There were enough people in the Skydome let alone 700,000 in a field in Downsview. It seems a little desperate to me to have to sit for hours, half a mile from the stage to see a band. Wow.
As well, I don't see the Hip doing this event, and if they did, the above mentioned still applies.
We all know, the only the place to see the Hip is upclose or in a small venue.
im not riding the GO train with 650,000 people.
INSANITY, if youre going, i mean its worth 21.50 but just too many people for me, that and i hate the stones
The show is up on ticketmaster this afternoon:

Molson Canadian (www.iam.ca) will have band lineups, travel packages, etc. soon.
I don't think the Hip are playing this one.

I totally agree with you Mats, that is just crazy. Its a walking death trap. Even if I were a big Stones fan, I would not go. Edenfest a few years back was about the cut-off for me. Even then, seeing the stage required "Super" vision.
Cheers!

I can honestly say I am extremely confused as to why Justin Timberlake is on the bill. I would tend to think that most Stones/AC-DC/Guess Whos fans have no idea and no interest in seeing this guy. The Hip have to play. They fit the genre of the concert a lot better than some whiny NSYNC reject. Just my opinion. Sounds like a good concert though. I'm in.
It sounds like it will be a good time, but I will be in Newfoundland.
Oh well the crowd is to big for my liking anyway.
