Apparantly a small plane or helicopter has hit a building in NYC...not any info yet on CNN.
watching it on cnn right now
holy crap, three buildings are on fire. Right up near Rockefeller Center, too.
This should be a good test for the communitations system that was out into place after 9/11.
I wonder if this was a accident?
WOAH, apparently the plane belonged to Cory Lidle, who pitches for the Yankees.
FBI is confirming Cory Liddle was the only person on the plane. Apparently his passport was found in the vincinity.
Cheers,
Pat
weird stuff... the press over here initially jumped on it like it was a terrorist plot, now they're doing some very humble back-pedalling...

they're just pissed at the england/croatia match
FUCK! Cory Lidle! this is really really unfortunate and sad...i can only imagine how his friends, family, and his teammates must be feeling right now.
we lost a lot more than the ALDS this year...RIP Cory Lidle.
Yankees have confirmed that it was Lidle and that he is dead. Apparently, eye witnesses were saying that the plane was flying erratically. Looks like some sort of mechanical malfunction.
