Obviously it doesn't make any difference to some people, so go ahead and listen. In response to another post, no one is saying its illegal to listen to streaming audio posted on a radio station's website -- that's not why I'm not listening or, it seems, why a lot of others are equivocal about it.
There's a certain experience that comes with sitting down with the actual album, going through the booklet, and enjoying the right quality sound. That's why I'm not listening.
When Music@Work was leaked, my brother gave me a copy, but the only song I would listen to was MMAW, because I had already heard it. I left the other for the day I had the actual album.
but, this is classic "a chacun son gout".

Check www.htzfm.com on Tuesday, October the 10th at noon as we have been sent a secret link to hear a live stream of the new Tragically Hip album entitled "World Container". The link will be posted on the website at that time.
They must be allowed, it has been sent to them by the band.
It's better for me if you don't understand.

Yeah, I paid $35 to import WC too, but you better believe the second they give me an opportunity to listen to a shitty 96k stream of Canadian genius, i'm going to take it.

Well, you know, you could light some candles and run a bubble bath, but the first time is still going to consist mostly of sweaty, desperate fumbling ending in a sticky mess.

I agree. I feel this completely undermines the official release. I really do not wish to hear it before the 17th. I want to wait at the record store's door impatiently while the clerk watches his watch and waits for the exact second it turns nine, then watch him walk slowly to the door to open it. Then, after purchasing it, I want to walk out of the mall in a hurry of anticipation to get to the car and plug it in and be blown away.
The reason I hate this the most is because I know no matter how hard I try, I'll end up listening to it streamed. I just hope some tragedy befalls their servers. Fingers crossed.

 HAHAHA
Nice post. Very True.
I personally am still deciding whether or not I am going to listen. We'll see though.

Hahaha. Funny story about that...
I'm debating just listening to the tunes we've already heard, Rink, Drop-Off, etc...then waiting 'til the 17th t'be surprised/amazed/whatever by the other five tracks...
i think that's what i'm gonna do, just listen to the ones we've already heard. And I count Pretend as being listened to, even though just the chorus in the In View video.
From what I see on The Bull's website, I think you have to be a member of their listener club "The Herd" to access the link to the live stream. Anyone here a member or know if this is true?
How long do you think it will take a torrent to be up on the inet after the stream starts? I'd say one will be up that same day.
Not on the Hip Torrent Tracker, that's for sure
So does anyone know how to become a member of The Bull's "Herd"? I can't find any signup links on their site. What about Htz-FM 97.7? Eariler in this thread they were mentioned as having the album stream but I can't see anything about it on their site.
Just heard through a friend that the album's gonna be up at Mix's website...www.999mixfm.com....Whether or not this is true, we'll find out after noon today, when it's supposedly gonna be posted...
