Hey guys,
I'm testing something out, so if you have winamp, try and download/play this:
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://129.173.193.177:8000/listen.pls">http://129.173.193.177:8000/listen.pls</a><!-- m -->

I know this has been done before, but whatever!
Works for me
It's playing a live version of Poets right now. What is it?
It also works with iTunes... Mac or PC.

Great stuff Sean! Is there a way to include the show date in the streaming info? Perhaps add it to the song title?

It would be nice to know what show a particularly good version of a song is from, or what shows sound better than others.
Well, right now this is just a trial:I am broadcasting basically a 45 minute show. I can definetly include dates in the song info. Also, I would love any feedback with this. Here's a few q's for everyone.

Commercials/No commercials?
Pure Hip/One or two different songs every once in a while?
Just Live/Live & Studio?

...and do you think this will get at least a few listeners at a time?

Anything would help.
Works fine for me.
Opened right up in my default player, MusicMatch.
No commercials - who would profit from them? You? If so, there are a lot of copyright issues that might cause you grief as you do not own the rights to the music...
Pure Hip.
Live only. Again, copyright issues might pop up.

Will this in any way canabilize the audience from the music player at thehip.com?
I was under the impression that you could broadcast studio cuts as long as you own a legal copy of it. Maybe I'm wrong though. I'll look into the legalities. As for the commercials: absolutely noone would profit. If any would want to advertise, I would charge a minute fee, but I would forward the money as a donation to hipbase.com (I can't see anyone paying for an ad on it though). I was thinking Live Hip would be the best path to go though.
It sounds sweet.

Mine won't download though.
