How many best of CDs can one band release? U2 must be catching up with Bryan Adams by now

some bands could put together all the "new songs" they include on their annual best of releases and it would be enough for an entire cd. Its sad when some bands actually have more best of albums out than actual albums.
although not a huge fan of U2, i don't think that they have too many gr. hits...the first 2 are different eras, and this one will have the best of both eras...
I'm sure you won't say that when the Hip have three or 4 different greatest hits, with mostley the same songs on it. It there were two new songs, 90% of the people on this site would be running out to buy it.
I thought this was going to be a list.

Let's say Paris Hilton, Pam Anderson, Nicole Ritchie, Britney Spears, Madonna, Beyonce, Brittany Murphy, Angelina Jolie, Christina Aguilera, etc. Anyway...........
That's the first thought that crossed my mind when I saw the title of the article also- how many greatest hits cd's can they put out? I suppose it's more for the record company scumbags to get richer but still, it's deplorable.
I didn't buy the Hipeponymous greatest hits cd. I have the DVD of the concert but to buy it for 2 new songs? I don't think so. The Hip won't have four different greatest hits albums. It took them over 20 years just to release one of them.
i like how angry people get over a gr. hits cd

...like Gord Downie.
Madonna?! Madonna's a whore?! Uhmm...
And yeah, the man himself indicated Yer Favourites wasn't the band's idea. Three cheers for a band that's always believed in making albums, not just singles and filler.

Well, I don't think Gord was that apposed to it, he just thinks the timing is wrong. He thought of a G.Hits as a "looking back" compilation, and he thought it was too soon for that. But amen to the making albums that are "all killer, no filler".
I swear, I'm not a 41 fan.
I guess it is only their second greatest hits CD, but there's really not much time between them, and 2 weaker CDs worth of music to add(besides their Green Day football collaboration!)
i like how people are too lazy to type the word "greatest"
and as for U2, maybe they are releasing it to fill a contract obligation

That is often the reason.
