Are you Ready, Teddy?
SEC rules, face it
The SEC is a fine American Collegiate Football Conference, no doubt about it.

Auburn, Florida, LSU, Tennessee, & Georgia are all strong this year.

The Big 10 is typically very comparable in strength, but is "down" a little this year.

Except for THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY, the #1 team in the land, baby!!
That Cal loss was HUGE..I didn't realize Tenn was looking so strong. I cannot WAIT for the Gamecock/Dawg game this weekend..
The real, burning question is: did Tressel vote his own team #1 or Texas #1?
Texas is Saturday as well, isn't it?? God I would love for Ohio St to beat Texas...
As a MSU fan I Obviously hate OSU. However, I am cheering for the Big Ten this weekend.

As for Notre Dame, lets see if they can survive their mini Big Ten schedule starting this weekend against Penn St.

I say they dont get through undefeated.
The OSU / Texas game this Saturday should be a good one.

Aside from losing Vince Young, Texas is much the same team that won the National Championship last year, with several solid running backs and a stout defense. The Buckeyes lost NINE starters off their incredible defense of a year ago. However, this offense (Troy Smith, Antonio Pittman, Teddy Ginn, Beanie Wells, Anthony Gonzalez) is one of the best I've ever seen at OSU.

As usual, it will probably boil down to turnovers, so I hope the pressure will get to young Texas QB Colt McCoy, who will be starting his second ever collegiate game, but doing so in a prime-time matchup with the #1 team in the nation, with NC aspirations hanging in the balance.

We will see. I'm going to say:

OSU - 31
UT - 27

I always root for Big 10 teams vs. non-conference foes. I really don't "hate" any B-10 teams other than Michigan, and I don't hate them as much as I hate Notre Dame and that new planet that replaces Pluto (a.k.a. Charlie Weis).

ND was unimpressive last week. We'll see if they look any better vs. PSU, but I agree -- they probably do not go undefeated this year....
My whole family are PSU grads, so the Shaffer family is defenitely rooting for Joe Pa to chalk up another victory this Saturday; especially against those overrated Catholic school wanna be choir boys! Tongue
I am pulling for Ohio State in this one!
I don't post on here too often but I can't sit idly by while people bash my beloved Irish!

While I too was unimpressed by their offensive display last week, I am not overly concerned. With Charlie Weis running the show, the offense will come around rather quickly. Look for them to put up some big numbers tomorrow. What did impress me last week was the defense, which was their weak link last season. Granted, Georiga Tech's offense was fairly one-dimensional, but it was still good to see that the defense could win a game for them. And it looks like all the off-season training has paid off because they appear to have a lot more speed this season.

As for the big game tomorrow, I say Texas 27-24.
Turned out to be no contest. Sad Well, it was a great game for Buckeyes fans anyway. :thumb:
