I actually prefer the cardboard cases by a huge margin. They just feel way better and they don't break and crack like every single one of mine does. The front cracks, the back cracks, the little tabs break off, etc.

The cardboard is just nicer for artwork too. You can have artwork all over.

Oh yeah, this album cover rocks. It seems political to me and espeically speaking out against the commercial nature of everything with the copyright and trademark symbols, the barcode and everything. I really like it.
I like the Phantom Power packaging best, but this looks a close second.

Cheers,
John

Nah, Day For Night still takes the cake here. Still, WC is definitely up there on the best album covers.

1. Day for Night
2. In Violet Light
3. Fully Completely
4. World Container
5. Phantom Power
6. Road Apples
7. Trouble at the Henhouse
8. IBE
9. Up to Here
10. Baby Blue Debut
11. M@W
Time for another poll! :?

I like it too. I had a feeling that they might play on a "shipping carton" type look as the cover. I think it is very well done.

And I bet it will be a cardboard cover case, much like PJ's Vitalogy. All good in my estimations!
Is this a Ruocco creation? Or does anybody know who did it? Any insight, Will?
OMG, what is that?? I f**king HATE it!

Is this band so bereft of creative inspiration that they need to resort to packaging that looks like.....a package? How long did it take them to come up with this idea? "Let's call it World Container, and make it look like a corrugated cardboard box!" Brilliant!

 Easy, now...eeeaasy! Just kiddin'! I like it.

Though truth be told, I couldn't care less what the packaging looks like.
All I care about is what the contents sound like....

It was apparantly designed by Juno Award winning artist Garnet Armstrong -- he has Juno hardware for the "Hipeponymous" cover as well as Jann Arden's "Love is the Only Soldier."

No, sorry to say I didn't create the cover or do any design work for the album...wish I did. I really like the concept. It was obviously done by someone that has a strong sense of design. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Garnet Armstrong did this one. I can't wait to see the rest of the packaging. Good stuff.

You almost had me there ... I was all ready to duck and cover and wait for another shitstorm. Well played.

I think the cover is nifty. Not sure about the "contents under pressure" tagline, but everything else is pretty cool.

i don't mind it at all, it's kinda Phantom Power-esque. My favorite still remains Fully, though. This would be a great cover if it was released on vinyl, especially.
As long as it is not the same cardboard design as Trouble At The Henhouse.
Everytime I pick the damn CD case up - I see a silver thing flying across the room.
"What the hell was that?"
"Oh yeah - just the CD"
I have a copy of M@W in cardboard casing, as well as a jewel case. Who knows... maybe they'll do both. Not likely, but you never know.

You have to wonder if the copyright and trademark symbols are in any way related to the blatantly commercial sound of the first single.
Brilliant

HAHAHA!!! Ya and also the cd gets scratched to crap just taking it out and putting it back in the case again and again and again... so I had to get a jewel case for it. I would like it being in the same kind of packaging as Phantom Power and Music @ Work. It gives it more of an original feel and look to it.
