Gord Downie of the Tragically Hip will be performing solo and discussing concerns for our enviorment and our lakes. More details about tickets/times to come....
Sounds good to me!
Bummer that it is on a Thursday night... but that doesn't mean it can't be done.
I'm going to attempt to attend this show. Is it all ages? That'd make a bit of a difference to me. And also, I may not because of school, but hell, it's Gord Downie!
It's a big church, but parking may be an issue. It's really a coin-toss as to how many locals will attend. You guys could have an all-out Hip roadtrip and drive by their recording studio etc.
Does anyone have ticket info?? I'm willing to rent a car and drive from toronto, I just need some more info.....might be coming to weinerart.net I guess.
THURSDAY NIGHT?!?!?!?!?!?! NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If it was a friday or saturday night I would do my best to try but there is no way on a thursday. ARGH!
im checking out ticket info today, first with Brian - the crazy record store owner who usually knows all about this kind of thing; then with the church itself. Ill keep you posted.
Chances are, since it is in Sydenham church, it will be an all ages show. Im underage and ive seen a few people there in the past. Pretty great acoustics.
I miss going to Brian's. If you visit Kingston, you must go take a browse through the Record Option. And ask him where something is. It's really unbelievable.
Cheers,
Pat
For those interested in tickets... I hope to get mine soon.

I'm thinking about making the trip up for this one...anyone from Kingston know if tickets can be picked up at the door? And how's the local buzz been for the show? Will the tickets be sold out? Any help would be much appreciated...

Quite a few posters around town... but I haven't heard anyone talking about it really. Tickets can be picked up at Grand Theatre Box Office which is only a few blocks away but you'd have to check their hours and whether or not there's any left.
The Grand Theatre said that you can pick them up at the show..... that's what I planning on doing.....
See the other thread. From what has been said all shows seemed to have followed a similar format.
