Anyone hear how many tracks are on the album? I'm guessing 12 -- the back-to-basics standard half-two-four. No more of this 14, 11, 13 dissonance for the smoothed out Bob Rockgically Hip.
Any guesses on how many track titles will be longer than 5 words? Do we have another It Can't Be Nashville Every Night, Escape is at Hand for the Travellin' Man, or I'll Believe in Your (Or I'll Be Leaving You Tonight) masterwork of short fiction. Or, are the rumours true, that even the heretofore The Lonely End of the Rink will get shortened to Rink a la (Don't Tell Me What the) Poets (are Doing) title-evisceration of 1998. Maybe they're all one-worders -- Fly, Pretend, Ocean.

On my way home from work today a local radio station played "On The Verge", and prompty following the end of the song, the DJ said that she had heard rumours that the new Hip single "Kicks Ass" and that the radio station (Live 88.5 here in Ottawa) would be getting it in a few weeks. The station itself plays next to no Hip, so I'm not entirely sure if there is any merit to what she said, but I guess we'll find out soon enough. I guess time-line wise, the end of August makes sense for the first single... I guess we'll be hearing soon enough....

I heard that Bob Rock wasn't happy with Gord's singing, so he brought in Raine Maida to do all the vocals. Oh, and Johnny has been replaced by Tommy Lee.

I think "Rink" has hit single written all over it. Granted I've only heard it once, but man did it ever kick my ass!
