I'm going to see Sam Roberts Tonight at a private show in T.O. They are filming him for a HD TV show in the U.S.
This will be my third show that I have seen in this series, the others being the North Mississippi Allstars and Kevin Breit.

I learned about the series when the producer posted on the NMAS website for Toronto fans of the band to come out and see a free show. The show was at 1:00 in the afternoon so they had a hard time getting people out. I responded and was put on the guest list. I also got an invite for the Kevin Breit show, I guess cause he is another guy who is not to well known, they needed people in the audience, so I went down to that show.

While at that show I was talking to the producer and he said that Sam Roberts was being filmed Tuesday ( tonight). I asked if I could get on the list for Sam but he said it was full, I told him that I was one of the thirty people that made it out to the NMAS show in November, he was very happy to hear that I was at that show and his assistant said he had to put me on the list for Sam, so I got an email the next day saying that me and a guest are on the list for Sam Roberts.

Anyone else heading to this show tonight? I am not going to post where it is. I will tell you about it tomorrow.

I tried to get tickets to the show but was out of luck. They went pretty quickly.

Sam sent out an email through his mailing list and you had to reply right away saying you'd be coming with a guest. The venue which is a church on queen street only holds about 230 I think so getting in would be very tough.

Yeah, I figured that is how they got the people through his site. yeah the Church is small, it was hot as hell last thursday and there were maybe 80 people there, I hate to think what it will be like tonight. If it holds 230 I'd be shocked.

Habsfan19 is going to be there at least at the last I heard. I was to be his guest if I could have gotten out of work, but alas, I'll be selling the vino this evening.

Have a blast folks -- hope to see some of you all at Flambourgh on Friday for Sam and the Trews (it's free -- puck drops at 7).

At least the temp went down today, if it was over 30 today, I think an old church would be hell to be in...oh well, that's what rock'n'roll is all about

Its Berkley Church, well past Church on Queen st, I'm sure there will be a tour bus right out in front.

The email i have it doors at 9 and show 9:45. The Venue is super small but really cool, great sound

he is playing a free show here in Sudbury in less then a month...I'm stoked.

It was a cool show. I was impressed with Sam and his Band, they were much tighter than I would have thought, and he could sing live better than I had heard.
The crowd was good, there was a group of guys going a little crazy considering the size of the venue it just wasn't necessary, they looked pretty stupid to everyone else there.

He's playing a free show tomorrow outside of Hamilton, which I'm totally going to.

it looks like he's been playing free shows all summer...I haven't seen anybody play this many free-shows since the Chili Peppers played all those (like what...3) free shows in Toronto...

I believe I read that he is to be on tonight's Late Show with Letterman.
