.i actually think the movie and book are on par with each other...in my opinion the best movie adaptation of a book ever made...
I love the book and the movie as well. As stated, Jack was great in the movie, but the whole cast are also excellent. Everything seemed to come together in the movie. This book definetly translated well to the big screen.

The Shining (of course...Kubrick always seems to get something unique out of every actor), and I
loved Five Easy Pieces.
Another film that I think is terribly underrated, and one of Jack's very best performances is
As Good as It Gets.
So how is he in
Terms of Endearment? I've always wanted to see that film, but never remember to rent it.....
