It's about Canadian Idol from a Philadelphian's perspective. Me no likey this blurb though "Not only does Jake Gold look like a music industry nerd – he is one! Jake made his name in the music biz managing The Tragically Hip, a band that has managed to remain completely unknown in America to this day Confusedcratch: . Producers call Jake a "rock and roll road warrior," but if you ask me, he looks more like a rock and roll dork tagging along for the ride"

Well, it's not entirely untrue but the author makes it seem like it's a requirement to make it in the USA. Instead of saying the Hip are unknown in the USA he could have stated that they have sold millions of records in Canada but it's no big deal.
As a Canadian, I don't see the appeal of American or Canadian Idol.

But I'd watch a "Tragically Hip" night on Canadian Idol for shits.
