Thanks Chris. I've heard this, but never actually seen it written.
I've also heard (but never read) there is an agreement that for the band Tragically Hip to exist all 5 must be members. If even one member leaves (of their own accord or otherwise) the band Tragically Hip ceases to exist. The others could carry on, but not as The Hip.
These agreements, though not revolutionay by any standard, are certainly not the industry norm. Then again from the beginning The Hip have never played it exactly by the rules and this "one for all - all for one" attitude, in my mind, is what helps make them so special and unique and has allowed them to continue to make great music, while others waste their time in court.
