I'd be crying like a baby if that was my stick. That bites.
The movie is getting great reviews... <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://jam.canoe.ca/Movies/Reviews/R/Rocket_Story_Of_Maurice_Richard/2006/04/21/1543385.html">http://jam.canoe.ca/Movies/Reviews/R/Ro ... 43385.html</a><!-- m -->

Im going to see it tomorrow, I cant wait.
I'd actually going to go see it tomorrow. My friend isn't too keen on it, since it's about hockey and French people. But I really want to see it.
I think this will be an excellent date movie.

Anyone think I should suggest to the wife-to-be that we see it on the honeymoon?
you're the man, just tell her she has to go, because you're the man and what you say goes, so if you say she goes, she goes...sometimes she goes and sometimes she doesn't, but that's the way she goes...Tongue

btw, she isn't cheating on you with a really big native dude is she ? (avatar joke)

Alternatively, you could show her a picture of Roy Dupuis and she'd probably go to the movie quite willingly.

I knew there was something about Chris I just didn't trust!

It's not me, or Dribble that you shouldn't trust. It's John Redcorn who's cheating with Dale's wife.

Completely missed the King of the Hill reference. Crap.
lol!

might be going to see this tonight!
Finally saw this movie yesterday, and I thought it was great. Probably the best hockey movie I've ever seen. Here's a Canadian movie that for once doesn't look like a cheap CBC mini-series. They obviously went all out on the production costs, and the cinematography is beautiful. I also liked how they spliced in real film footage of 1940's Montreal. The film tells Richard's story really well, and the acting and writing are both top notch. Not to mention the hockey scenes are very well done. If I had to compare it to another movie, I'd say it's kinda like the Canadian version of Cinderella Man. An inspiring, rousing, emotional story about a true-life hero. Great stuff!

Two thumbs up!

agreed, i also went and saw it last night, and i was blown away...
I only saw one preview for it, and it looked kinda Americanized, I mean, they call him "The Babe Ruth of Hockey". But looking at your guys posts, i think i'm wrong.

The Sweater is the best Habs film of all time though. Hah.
TDC, out of curiosity, how can you justify that signature? Surely, you're not equating the Montreal Canadiens to the tragic loss of life captured in the poem In Flanders Field.

It's the Habs' motto. If I recall correctly, it was painted above the players' locker room exit at the old Forum, and players would reach up and touch it as they made their way onto the ice.

I'm not sure if they've done the same thing at the Bell Centre though.
