well were to start, but how do you tell people that something i is not right
should you
. blurt it out ( sort of rip the bandage right off)
hint around it let them guess
or not tell them at all

i choose blurt it out and when it comes out it will sound very bad.
so here goes i found out this week that i have tyroid cancer. i have not gone to the oncologist yet but my wife works at that hospital Roswell Park cancer institute so she has found the best for this type of cancer for me.

the prognosis is very good in that it is not suppose to move anywhere else besides the thyroid ,( but each case is different) so surgery to remove the thyroid is most likely coming up this summer ( no hip shows for awhile)

shouldn't need chemo or radiation ( i hope) would be put on thyroid medication

sorry to lay this on all of you but i feel i know alot of you even though it is only through this forum

I hope you get well very soon. No easy way to break this kind of news to anyone. My thoughts are with you.

My Mom had thyroid problems a few years ago. Hers turned out to be a over active thyroid. Her thyroid in her neck was about 11 times the normal size. The surgery we quick and she was back on her feet in a few days.

My uncle just died from cancer, so I know what it can be like for people and families. And I hope it goes well for you Ron, it sounds like its going to be okay, hopefully the operation will take care of it. Also it was nice of you to share that with us, The Hipbase is pulling for you Im sure.

My little cousin just overcame lukiemia. Her courage and bravery still astounds me. I believe she overcame due to her utter optimism. Stay positive, and you will get through this! My thoughts are seriously with you man. Good luck, even though I know you won't need it. Stay strong.
