Maybe your doctor will give you anti- inflammitory painkillers....if he does ask him for non-narcotic ones, that way your wont get addicted to them...ok well addicted is a strong word.....

or they might do an exploratory surgery....

best of luck to you and hope you feel better soon

i appreciate the heads up - i do need better pain control management. i've decided to go off the heavy duty stuff --- but i really feel like i'm paying for it. there has got to be a better way, you know?...

anyway, i just want to be good by memorial day weekend ---- there's no way i'm gonna be feeling like this while i'm at the gorge. no way at all!
awww i hear ya...try the new heat reaps that have come out....those work really good...
So my latest question for you - is have any of you ever had or know someone who's had back surgery before?

After getting the results of my last MRI (of the lower spine) I'm now going to be meeting with a neurosurgeon on the 28th. Basically the point of crisis is around L3-4, L4-5, and bad L5-S1 (disc on pressing on the nerve roots). They have made it clear that I will be dealing with this for the rest of my life...and to make it worse they say they're not sure if I could someday make it through a pregnancy d/t the weight a baby would put on the L5-S1 area thus ultimately making my legs go numb. That has been really a tough one to wrap my head around.

Has anyone here been through anything similar? This all stemmed from being a passenger in a car that was hit back in Feb. I've been going to the doctor and receiving therapy 3x/week since mid March & nothing seems to be getting better. It's impacting my performance at work and has finally crept into all other areas of my life. Also, they are ordering me a tens unit since I have such an aversion to pain pills. Anyway, I'm hoping that maybe one of you has something to share. That or maybe advice...
