Hey Guys,
If you liked the first Sam disc, definately pick up the new one that got released today. Although I was almost put off by the cover art, the disc sounds just as wicked as Born in a Flame...
oh, and why is this in the Hip Discussion? Cause Sammy and the boys gave a nice shout out to The Hip in the Linear notes.
Thats cool!
Why do the Hip thank Snoop Dogg in their liner notes again?
Snoop Dogg was the name of the chef who cooked them meals while they recorded In Violet Light. Not to be confused with the Snoop Dogg we're all familiar with.
How's that for an odd-ball hip fact?
I've always wondered! Thanks!
Looking forward to hearing the new Sam Roberts album, they actually jam in a loft down the hall from my office so I've been getting some sneak previews and I have to say it's been sounding pretty good.
I'll have to pick it up tomorrow, thanks for the heads up.

LOL, do explain. What is it you do that you're able to hear them 'jam down the hall' ---- enquiring minds want to know! (at least i do)
I'd love to know too, sounds like a job I wouldnt mind working 9 to 5 for...

Am I the only one that really likes the cover art? To me it looks like something right out of a comic book. I think it's pretty cool.

I like it to! High-five!
I think its pretty awesome too! Looks like a cool videogame or movie backdrop. But its always whats inside that counts and the album is great.

Tell that to Will.
Definately some great new songs on the Album.
Also stoked for his upcoming tour.
I'm going to the Victoria show then down to Sasquatch.
I think the cover art looks something like a cover Pink Floyd would have had.
Anyways, the album is great, although is isn't as good as his first, which was a work of art.
Ok, so I work for a renovations company in a huge building with a lot of lofts. It's actually home to a lot of local Montreal bands and last year the corner loft a few doors down which was empty a while got rented to a band. Of course, with all these bands playing it's a pain to talk business on the phone so we usually get pissed when these half-assed "bands" move in close to us and start jamming during business hours.
Then I saw Sam Roberts and his band moving in their equipment. They all were pretty cool, they say hello and have the occasional chat with us, although Sam has never given more then a wave and a "how's it goin". I have been wanting to ask him about the U.S. tour with the Hip but I haven't had the opportunity yet.
But as I said, was cool to hear them trying out new stuff and recognizing some of the tunes on the new disc.
(Just as an FYI, I saw Sam in Ikea a few months ago buying an ugly, banged up couch in the "as-is" section. Guess the royalties haven't started rollin in yet.) :?
