ok good..i'm not the only one who was gettin sick of it then..i thought it might just be me..but my god...we see replays of his reactions!!!! what the hell is that?????
they've always started masters covergae really late. I don't think they've ever shown the entire round of the leaders on Sunday. I have no idea why but I'm pretty sure thats the way it's always been. I remember being pissed off about that a few years ago when Wier won and you only saw about 2/3rds of his round.

I was watching Amen corner on the web, and It was a pleasure to NOT see Tiger. It's sickening to see all the coverage that guy gets. They would rather make Tiger, whos playing the worst he has, the story, then say, Ben Crenshaw - who is playing the best Masters he has in a while.
Tiger is not leading in any stats.... WHY WHY WHY IS HE ON TV ????
Gee, guess what time Tiger Tee's off tomorrow?
Exactly when the TV Coverage starts. Oh Brother.
When they show a Washington game do they show Ovechkin and talk about him the most? Pittsburgh, do they show Crosby? Of course they do because they are the stars. Tiger is possibly the best ever. I don't think it's a bad thing that they show him on television. From the coverage I have seen so far I have hardly seen Tiger play but I've only seen bits and parts of the tournament .
Tiger's tee off time is decided by his score. If he was +5 or something he would start a lot earlier in the day.
Crenshaw has virtually zero chance to win the tournament, Tiger does have a decent chance.
BTW, when Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer played in tournaments and were shown repeatedly even when they were about +14, did you approve of that?

crenshaw has no chance eh? isn't he only 5 strokes behind the leader? i'd say he has a great chance..

I REALLY don't think it matters what I think. I don't approve, nor I disapprove of anything. I was just agreeing with, and talking to Opiated. Thanks for letting me know why Tiger is on TV the most. I was really confused. I understand that the tee times aren't decided by the TV schedule (or vice versa), I was pointing out the irony. I will explain myself better next time.
(and BTW I was confused when I saw Tigers time as 1:30pm, when the TV coverage starts in my time zone, then I jumped to a conclusion that is was the same time the TV coverage starts, therefor thinking it was ironic)
I agree that Woods has a better chance to win, but the Tiger Woods TV coverage isn't based on that, it's based on ratings and who (the netowrks feel) the audience wants to see.
I do believe my point is valid when I say they'll show Tiger whether he's playing poorly and good, and not do the same for others.
I can't change the world, but I simply made a statement.
As far as Jack and Arnold go - I am not that old. I was 8 when Jack won in 86.
As I am watching the replay of the Masters, (right now) they are showing Tiger walk up the fairway. (without reason, he didn't do anything special). And then they showed him lining up his putt for a
very long time.
Do you believe that is neccassary?
And for further clarification, forget that is was Tiger Let's say it was Bob the golfer, I would rather see someone playing good golf than poor golf.

I understand your points but I don't think Tiger is the only one they show. Personally, if I never saw Phil or Sergio I'd be happy as a duck.
I wasn't talking about Jack or Arnold in 1986. I'm talking about more recently. Jack was in the Masters just a few years ago and he was way over par but the networks still showed him all the time.
Perhaps the fact that Tiger has won 4 Masters and is probably the greatest to ever play has something to do with why he is being shown. Perhaps it's because he is seemingly ALWAYS in contention. If Tiger was ten over par I'm sure they wouldn't be showing him as much.
Of course it's based on ratings and who the networks think the audience want to see, and that person is Tiger. I understand that you're not a Tiger fan and I'm not trying to start a fight or anything. I just don't happen to mind Tiger being shown a lot. After all, he is the show. Half of the audience wouldn't even be watching if Tiger wasn't playing. Vijay, Phil, Sergio, Ernie, David Toms don't attract many viewers. If they won 4 Masters like Tiger and 10 or however many majors Tiger has won, they would be the popular golfers who boosted the ratings. People like to see the best and Tiger is unquestionably the best. I understand not everyone wants to see Tiger all the time and I used to be like you in that I got sick of seeing and hearing about Tiger. After a while I changed my mind and started cheering for Tiger in all the tournaments he played in.
Yes, I understand you would rather see even a nobody who is having a great day than Tiger. I'm sure a lot of people would share your sentiments. If I wasn't a fan of Tiger Woods I'm sure I would be saying the exact same thing.

After a 4 hour delay play will resume @ 5:15pm/5:20pm.
That will leave them about 1.5 - 2 hours to play, roughly 8 to 10 holes; for those who will continue play, and for those who tee off first.
The Leaders will have to play close to 36 holes tomorrow
One point to remember is that unlike any other golf tournament, The Masters owns the TV coverage and dictates what, who and when it will be on TV.
good to see that ames is only 4 shots behind and we saw not one shot of his today
I like Weir's chances. I don't think Clark has the nerves to stay at the top. Right now I give Mickelson as my pick. But everyone knows that he loves to choke if he gets the lead. And you never can count out Tiger. As you could tell by the 15 minutes of coverage he got on the practice green. (just had to throw that in, please tomatoes, and rotten vegetables my way)

that was sickening the amount of coverage he got..and not one piece of coverage of ames..disgusting
Can't you guys come up with something else to bitch about...after roughly 10 posts about the same thing we all know now.....you guys don't like Tiger and the coverage he gets...time to move on.
Here's a good idea, I think that the PGA should provide the at-home audience with the option to watch whichever golfer you want all the time throughout the tournament....similar to what they do with Nascar-In-Car on Rogers Super Sports pack. I had a similar idea with the NHL that every player could be miked before the game and you could pay to listen to that player throughout the game. You would have to sensor some of it for swears and team strategy but done properly it could be pretty darn cool....as could my golf idea...all it would take is 1 camera dedicated to each group, every round.
Whaddya think???

it's not that i don't like tiger, i just don't like the coverage..i do like your idea though...now..instead of bitching i'm going to start a thread about what songs the hip will play on this tour, and what gord likes for breakfast
