Mav when purchasing first in line tickets through thehip.com for reserved seating venues or more to the point the Artpark show will we be told where the seats are before we finalize the purchase.
I've read the policy and just would like to confirm this issue.
For shows that are reserved seating, tickets held for purchase, via thehip.com, will be spread over various sections and areas in the venue. Seats are sold on a first come, first served basis, with best available seating assigned to each order as it is placed. Purchasers will not have access to seating charts, or ability to choose where the seats are. The
seats you receive, are the seats you receive.
Thanks

Do only "real fan's" deserve special treatment?
You don't think that someone who has followed the band, bought all their albums and spent hundreds or thousands of dollars deserves to sit closer to the stage than the guy who is just going to hear New Orleans is Sinking? I know if I was in a band who I'd prefer to be sitting closer to the stage.
A concert is a
PUBLIC place. All rights, implied or otherwise, don't exist. You assume that all fans want to be close to the stage. I, for one, prefer to be closer to the sound board. If I was in a band I wouldn't care who was in the front row as long as there were fans there. Actually I would prefer a mix of old and new fans in an effort to expand our fan base.
My point is...Who is anyone on this board to judge the level of fandom?

And no one is! The "First in Line" program is
not run or affiliated with this board at all! It is run through a mailing list at
http://www.thehip.com!!!
You have to remember that there are a lot of people that participate on this board on a daily basis and they have a right to an opinion too! I can't speak for others but I do think that this program the band has started is good for the "Real" fans. It gives them an edge (however slight it might be) over hundred's of scalpers that typically get the best tickets and then re-sell them at astronomical prices. If you take a look around, you will see in the ticket exchange that there are several other members of this board trying to help out other fans by providing tickets at
their cost.
I for one want to see the band continue down this road of prime tickets for their "real" fans. And I will let the band judge what "real" is. Whether it be a yearly membership program (the hip club) or the program they have currently in place, it is up to them what they want to do.

They don't call it "Marketing" for nothing. Its what the market will bare. Seen The Hip in Boston and couldn't GIVE away a ticket. Literally tried to give it away, but everyone had one.
Would you go to Europe on holiday and NOT want to buy a ticket for the show before you chose to book that hotel in Amsterdam? The scalper (or broker, if you will) is good or bad depending on your point of view and your plans...if you have to go last minute and just show up, well, you pay the price for said scheduling, but maybe its worth it when your business dictates if and when you get to go.
'Eh, thats what internet ticket boards and fan sites are for anyway, no?
Now, who's got an extra first row HOB? Just might wind up seeing a cousin in ChiTown over Indpendence day weekend...
you guys all missed the point that it's a timing issue. We all work right? And alot of us don't work in an office with a computer. So why are the doing the presale at 10 a.m. on a tuesday? I've been to about 80 shows, I dont want any special treatment, I just want the same chance as everyone else!

Funny you should mention that, I just tried to book tickets for the July 11th show in Amsterdam but couldn't find any. I got tickets for the July 12th show in Utrecht though, can't wait!! Will be my first Tragically Hip concert! After years of listening to bootlegs I'll finally get to see one live
