As most of you know, Gordie performed a cover of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah. The HIP should record a cover of this song and put it on an album and it could be the perfect soundtrack to countless scenes in movies or TV shows.

Uh, Blow at High Dough.
A movie about a small-town kid caught up in making a movie about movie-making, while trying to stay one step ahead of his arch-nemesis, a taxi driver thrown into a murderous rage by an unfortunate incident of coitus interruptus. Both want to marry the same girl; she is non-committal, declaring that whoever fits 'er will eventually git 'er. The small-town kid is equally non-committal, but he can get behind anything. A more pressing concern is the souped-up taxi that chases him around the speedway oval. Why are they risking their lives, if neither one really cares? Existential ennui is writ large. It's never quite clear if it's an Elvis thing or an Ann Margaret thing, or where the narrative ends and the metanarrative begins. Rick Groen at the Globe gives it five stars. Nobody else gets it, but everyone loves the soundtrack.

Maybe we can work on skippy and have him channel all his writing talent into the screenplay instead of writing my thoughts, only more succinctly, about
bumvertising...
"Train Overnight": Hitchcockian thriller.
"The Bear": "...they docked their boats and cocked their guns."
"The Luxury": bitter booze-fueled tale of isolation/alienation, with some gratuitous nudity there near the middle.
Do any songs off the latest album lend themselves well to being turned into a movie. Love is a Curse would make a good documentary. And the HIP themselves made a short film for the current We Are The Same video which could be a full length feature film.
