Quote: Las Vegas

I have a story that does not relate to a concert. We visited Las Vegas I think In 2000 with our children. There is alot of things to see and do as a family. My parents also came but were elderly. My husband and children ages 6 8 at the time went dowm town and walked down Bourban street. We saw a sign outside a small club that said "playing tomorrow 8$ The Tragically Hip 8 oclock.A man came out and asked if he could help us.I said we saw the sign, and it says The Tragically Hip is playing here tomorrow. He replyed"Yes,I guess they are pretty big in Canada!" I asked if we could bring a camera or a video camera he said sure and I asked if we could maybe meet and talk with them after"sure he said ,they are really nice guys!"WOW whwt an opertunity!Good music and good company---My daughter, with ALLLLL the chesp buffets and restaurants insisted on eating at AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Mcdonalds!!!!!Well, before the morning she was puking so hard, once an hoyr and ir lasted allll day(we stayed at the Excaliber wondurful!)the staff was excellent!!!!That night we were planning on leaving my children with my parents to have the most wonderful night when my daughter got sick again.I had a choice as a Mother The HIP or my daughter MEET the HIP Party with the hip or stay with my daughter because if she got worse or if something worse happened my parents could not handle the situation.I LOVE my children, but,I gave up the oppertunity to meet and PARTY with the HIP I am a GOOD MOTHER almost everyone I tell this story to says I was crazy No Im sure the Hips family loved them enough to give alot for them to make it.It will camr back to me some day.I have everyone but the new cd.God Bless good music Mary Lumsden lumsden_mary@hotmail.com

I'm no language major but that [lack of] style of writing annoys me more than the most atrociously designed MySpace page. I don't know who I want to slap more...the imbeciles that write that way, their teachers, or their parents.

Maybe for good measure they should all just be lined up and stooge-slapped!

Or better yet, dealt with like any other menace to society...by Jack Bauer!

Jack Bauer wrote a math test in high school and wrote "Violence" as his answer to every question. He received an A+ because Jack Bauer solves all his problems with violence.
New stories found - working on a bug in which some stories are not being posted. Has to do with how people are catagorizing things. I'm dumbing it down a little bit, but there are a whack of new stories in the archives as a result.

Some good ones. I'm also working on a couple of features to rank them so that the best/most popular can rise to the top without having to search through them all.

Hey, is there any sort of search feature with Hip Story Project? I was thinking about a few of the shows I have been to, and wanted to do a search to see if anyone had written a story about them.

Currently, you can search by almost everything BUT a show date. . . .though, I am about to do an overhaul to connect a few more items in the database actually, so soon there will be a lot more and easier search capabilities.

You can search by venue and related material, including stories, will appear. Again, I have a more detailed and inclusive series of databases that will be integrated into the site shortly, which have more venues. So I'd go to the search feature - on the new drop down menu - and try the venue . . .
