Hey folks, just incase you were interested, the full Moon will pass through the Earth's shadow tonight and turn a cool red colour. So if you're in Eastern North America, go out around 10:30EDT time and you will notice a little dark "bite" out of the moon as it is entering the shadow. Then at 11:14 EDT the Moon will be inside the shadow for about an hour before it reaches the other side and starts to exit the shadow. It's kinda cool to see. You don't need to be in dark skies to see it, just clear skies. So if you're up take a peek. A red moon is pretty cool!

I'm hoping for clear skies here in Nova Scotia and will be taking pictures. I'll post them if all goes well.

It doesn't sound too promising for the weather, at least in the Buffalo area..Cloudy.... we will definitely stay up and look for it and keep our fingers crossed for clearer skies. If you get some pictures that would be great..I look forward to seeing them :thumb:

I don't think we will are going to see the Moon in Halifax tonight. Where do you usually take pictures at High?

It didn't work out for us here either. Too cloudy and of course it's raining...NONSTOP!! :rambo:

actually, in halifax it's not called a lunar eclipse, it's called a "misty moon" :lol:

I got up at 5.00am. Looking out my bedroomwindow. No clouds :thumb:
A big, little bit red moon in the morning sky. Beautiful!

Didn't see anything this morning by the way, I was sleeping like a baby!

Well last night was a bust here in Halifax area. According to the satellite image folks down on the south shore of NS saw it fine but where I goto observe is a spot 45 min outside Halifax in dark sky was solid cloud. Oh well. There's another one in November. Keep your fingers crossed.

At least it's not as bad as here in Calgary where it SNOWS every second week. I heard on the radio this morning that there may be flurries again later today. :roll:

I can't stand this "spring" weather this year. It's driving me crazy.
