anyone heard it yet? not sure the name of the new single but if i didn`t know he had left the tea party...i would be positive that it was a new ttp single. wonder what really happened there with them breaking up

If you ask me, it was Jeff Martin's huge ego that lead to the breakup. Just a hunch.

apprently he was in vancouver working with Jimmy Page

I'd say I was a Tea Party fan...not die hard, but a fan all the same. I've seen them live maybe 3 times, and on MuchMusic enough times, and I never got the feeling he had a large ego.

i`ve heard alot of comments about his ego as well, but i never saw it. i actually met them here in lloyd a couple months before they broke up and they were very cordial. they invited us on the bus for some drinks and they seemed genuinely happy in regards to the state of the band

What I hear was Jeff just wanted to do his own thing and put the Tea Party on hiatus for awhile. Im not sure if its a 100% broken up for life deal. Im a big TP fan, and Im really looking forward to his solo album. Hey, I'm in the same boat, or was at least. I have Splender Solis, Edges of Twilight, Transmission, Triptych, Interzone Mantras. I used to listen to these cd's ALL THE TIME but I still got the impression that Mr. Martin was an egomaniac. I haven't met them personally so I can't speak on how he is in person. Just a hunch like I said.

Just a hunch like I said......and I've read interviews with him where he basically says he "doesn't mean to brag" but "the musicianship is the band is VERY HIGH". Maybe he's right, but who says that? Gord doesn't walk around telling reporters how great of a songwriter he is does he? I'm sure Gord knows he is fantastic but he doesn't have to tell everyone.

I was a really big Tea Party fan until I met Jeff Martin. Now I kind of enjoy the music, but I have a hard time getting how big of a prick he was out of my head. The other Jeff and Stewart are fantastic chaps though.

Oh well, he's still really talented. But a jerk.

i've met the band twice, once backstage at a show, and the 2nd time i had to interview them for my show..i found them to be very nice guys, although yeah..jeff has a "rock star" attitude to a point..but they were really interesting to interview, although i was nervous as hell when they first walked in..jeff wouldn't take off his sunglasses...
