Where abouts are people in the UK from? I got transferred for work over here until August and we are looking for some cool stuff to do on the weekend. Any suggestions? We live in Ealing Broadway

We will definitely be hitting up the Shepherd's Bush show and maybe the Netherlands one. We don't miss our shows for anything really.....we went to the last cleveland show at the odeon and I made it back for hockey practice at the University of Waterloo @ 545 the next morning. So maybe a tuesday nighter and show up for work late in London the next day???? may be a stretch.

Let me know....very excited about these shows.

Mike.
I think I'm in love..
last time i did the drive from Newcastle down to
london, grabbed a few soft drinks with a few people at the bar, then drove back. But still well worth the time travel & money to see them so close up.
In 97 I was right at the front of the stage, and must admit that at certain points I caught myself yelling like a Take-That fan!!

Scare the kids for a start.

This was a poor attempt at humour while also having a jovial dig at Shane regarding his 'Innapropriate' post.

If I had gone 'Whoo-Hoo' I am sure none of this would have happened :-)

It's all good, D. I saw the humor in your post. I laughed.

And I noticed that this shane dude has placed his 'inappropriate' stamp on at least one other post around here, maybe the sarcastic "email order bride" post? He must have lost his sense of humor somewhere......

I guess he has a right to express his opinion, but seems rather self-righteous and judgemental to drop a one-word blast like that on what are clearly lighthearted posts intended for the purpose of entertainment.

The fact that Hipbasers seem to feel free to make whimsical, off-color, and/or tongue-in-cheek submittals is half the reason why i read and post here......
... Appropriate.
LoftyPines Wrote:I think Shane's use of "inappropriate" was more sarcastic than anything. At least thats how I read it. If only there was an emoticon for "sarcastic" there would be far fewer fights around here.

A-ha! This is why I employ the hand footnote (*) to explain any potential misunderstandings.

Moi aussi, HE. If I wanted conversation with short-tempered people, I'd just talk to my co-workers.

Well at least that is one out of... oh dear... how many?

And excuse me, but £22.50!!!

Are we paying for individual air-fares here (well I guess technically we are, but anyhoo)

Sadly wife can't make it down, so probably going to be a solo road trip again this year :-(

point of interest here, but Hip somebody has made a mistake somewhere. here in the UK there are multiple ticket selling agencies who sell tickets, always for the same price, except for service fee differences. however, for this gig, both ticketweb.co.uk and wayahead.com are selling tickets for £22.50 each.... HOWEVER, ticketmaster.co.uk are selling them for £17.50 each. same tickets, same location.

i'd hurry and buy them from ticketmaster before they realize their mistake.

Also if you haven't been to the Empire before, don't buy the Level 1 seats if you can avoid it - the sound is poor up there

Well I have finally managed to order my ticket. YAY!!

Now I have the desicion of whether to hire a care to drive down (mine has a rather big engine) or get the train.
I always have a paranoid fear that I will end up having to sleep in a station when I am getting a late train.

D
(happy happy joy joy)
Also, forgot to say thanks for the heads up on the cheaper tickets.

Cheers!
Got my tickets last week for the London gig....booked my hotel....just the flights to get booked...can't wait Big Grin
I am looking forward to meeting up with our UK brothers.

I figure the train down plus a hotel might still be cheaper than the drive from Newcastle. Might have to look into hotels.

Last time I drove down & back straight off, slept for an hour in a Doncaster service station.
Nice
