I know I will get beat up for this (I can't find the thread) but I was watching the Rush 30th aniversary concert on dvd today. While wtching the part of the special features where Rush is given a special lifetime award I almost fell off the arm chair when during the preceeding collage of tributes from the likes of BNL, Primus and others...THERE WAS THE HIP, DOING A LIVE VERSION OF LIMELIGHT...

yes that is the same clip, it was on the tribute to rush during their induction to the canadian rock and roll hall of fame at the junos a few years ago

I hope someone can get their hands on the whole video...that wasn't half bad...a little shaky in spots...but overall pretty damn good...Geddy Lee doesn't have the easiest chops to duplicate.

yeah Neil Pearts parts wouldn't be very easy o play seeing as Johnny's drum set is way smaller than Neil's drum set

I'm curious as to when this was shot. I don't recall any old clips where Sinclair looked like that. In fact, it almost doesn't even look like him. Gord and Robby look quite different as well...

Plus Neil is an infinitely better drummer than Johnny (no disrespect to Johnny intended).

It looks circa Up To Here, to me. Bobby's hair is long but no beard and I recognize Gord's do from that era. Gord Sinclair's hair is odd though. Hmmm... I'm pretty sure it's from around UTH though. Bobby's been beardless since then, but Gord hasn't had hair like that in a
long time.
Re. Easter Eggs on the DVD - Are there any? I looked around a bit but I'm very easily distracted.

I'd put it at somewhere between Road Apples and Fully Completely, as I think FC is when both Gords went from long shaggy hair to shorter hair (it's definitely Sinclair, because his semi-spastic grooving motions and facial expressions are definitely there). As for Robby, this would appear to be one of those occasions, over the years, when his beard retracted into his face. Later, I imagine, he concentrated really hard and it sprang back out in its full messianic glory.
On a side hair note, over the holidays my wife saw photos of me with long, inadvisable early-'90s Canadian college kid hair. I had to explain to her that my not-quite-a-mullet-but-still-pretty-bad do was par for the course in that place and time. Fortunately, I had the video for Last American Exit handy as a means to reinforce my argument. I mean, yikes, everybody.
And Peart's a better drummer than just about any carbon-based life form (given that Bonham and Moon no longer qualify for the second half of that), but I'd still prefer to have Johnny on something that needs a good, hard-driving rock beat, rather than a lot of complicated frippery.
