For weeks, I've thought that Texas will win this game, and oddly enough, the feeling is even stronger here on the day of the Rose Bowl. I give the Longhorn defense the edge over that of the Trojans, and also, I think that Texas will play with a bigger chip on its shoulder since it has been virtually written off by the national press over the last month.
Who do you think will be crowned the national champion with a win tonight?

I am cheering for Texas. I just want someone else to win. I love watching Young play, he has to be the most exciting player QB since Vick was in college.
I just dont know if Texas can hold USC in check. If there is anything to base it on maybe watch the Oregon/USC game or the ND/USC game? Oregon had the trojans for at least the first half and Dame should of won that game.
Either way it should be great. Last night's game wasnt to shaddy either.
I'd be surprised if either D keeps the opposing offense in check. It might come down to whomever has the ball last.
But I'm hoping that maybe UT gets a turnover or something. All I know is that I'm sick of hearing about USC's "dominance" of what I think is a soft PAC-10 Conference. I'm not saying that USC isn't a great team, and I'm not saying that it isn't difficult to win back-to-back titles like they have -- but i have to wonder if that 36 game winning streak would be intact if they had to go on the road into some of the huge shaking venues that Big 12, Big 10, and SEC schools must play in multiple times every year.....its just not the same out there on the Left Coast....
I'm probably just being a homer here...but I was so impressed by them when they came up and beat my beloved Buckeyes. With all of the talent we have, the coach we have...everything. There is no way that we should have lost a game at home this year. The fact that the Longhorns came up here and beat us shows me that they could probably handle just about anything. I have never been at a game with such hype and anticipation - the Shoe was the ultimate in hostile environments that night, and the Longhorns overcame it. And for anyone who doesn't think that the Buckeyes could play with or beat any team in the country, ask Notre Dame who the best team they have played is. If the Bucks hadn't had so many turnovers in that game, we may have gained 1000 yards on ND! No kidding!

Wouldn't you love to see the Buckeyes as of right NOW take on Texas? I think the result would be VERY different than it was on Sept. 9. Troy Smith is a vastly improved QB. Why oh why did you take that $500, Troy? If he had not been suspended, the Buckeyes might never have lost at all this year!

Yes, I absolutely would love to see them play Texas again. I honestly believe that we should never lose a home game. I've been to every OSU home game (save 2: Kent State a few years back and San Diego State this year) and believe me, I know what advantages we have at home. We should be invincible there. We always play terrible on the road, which is why I'm not looking forward to next year's "rematch" - our real chance to take them out was this year, and we blew it, largely because of Troy Smith's bad decision - as you pointed out. Oh well - approximately 1 minute after the Fiest Bowl ended my focus is now squarely on the Tribe. Playoffs this year!

I agree completely, take Oregon for example, they would not have had only one loss if they played in the Big Ten.

are phenomenal. Bush might be the best I've ever seen in the college game.

Esthete, the Pac-10 may have been average, but the Longhorns' conference, the Big 12, was no great shakes either. Something to keep in mind.
I think USC takes it... as good as Vince Young is, I can't see Texas being able to contain Leinart, Bush and White for the whole game.

What a game, I cant believe Young, the guy is amazing to watch. I wonder if that game will help him jump into the draft. As of last night I read that he was leaning towards returing to Texas. I think he wants to be te top QB in his draft year. But next year wont be any better with Brady Quinn coming out.
Now conference play for baskeball is rolling. My alma mater takes on Illinois tonight to open up its big ten play.
