So I'm thinking about taking a little winter golf trip to Myrtle Beach with my Dad in late February or early March. I started looking online tonight to get an idea at some package prices and the sheer number of golf courses in the area made my head start to spin. I know just about all of the hot spots for golf in Canada, but I am clueless when it comes to the Myrtle Beach golf scene. So I thought I would ask you all for some advice if you've been to this area for golf.
Which courses would you suggest?
Which courses to avoid?
Places to stay?
Did you use a travel agent for your Golf package?
We would probably do a 3 night/4 day trip and try and squeeze in 4-5 rounds. I'm all about the bargains but if I'm going to make the trek down there I would like to budget my trip so that I'm staying in a decent hotel/condo and playing at some of the higher-end courses.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
RG
All I know is Charleston and Hilton Head. both which I prefer.
but I don't know squat about the courses in Charleston, but HH has
a ton of them..
ive only heard good things
I've been to Myrtle a few times. I had a buddy working there and I stayed at his place so I don;t know much about the accomodations. I have had some conversations with Golfmaster Jim regarding taking a group of guys down and i found him to be very plesant and knowledgable.
When are we going? How many strokes are you giving me?

I go every year.
I've got a few lists created I'll PM or email you.
When do you need the advice by? I've got plenty.
Two quick hints, IMO
WORST (ALL AROUND) COURSE : Belle Terre
BEST (ALL AROUND) COURSE: Waterway Hills
Belle Terre is terrible from the service, to the cart paths, beside their ponds, to the WIDE open layout. To the condition of the course, to the fake doglegs... I could go on and on...... oh ya, besides that fact that there is a HUGE billboard to their course AFTER the exit. Once you exit there are no further signs....... oh and another........
Waterway Hills is not the fanciest place (as I said earlier I have a list) We return there year after year. From the Service to the layout of the courses (27 holes) to the condition of the course everything is wonderful.
