When I saw there was a reply in this thread I figured it would be Dame posting, "There you go," or something along those lines as an anti-climactic 3000th post. Since it was LK, I now foam at the mouth for something stimulating, titillating, and exciting from Mr. Dame.

I met a life long Liberal voter today named Doris. In her Golden years, Doris has become incensed with “that Conservative guy.” Doris thinks his record speaks for itself. Doris thinks he’s done serious damage to Canada. Doris thinks his policies are ill suited to tackle the problems facing Canada today. Doris thinks R.B. Bennett is still Conservative leader. I thought about telling her… but figured I’d wait until after January 23. But hey R.B., if you’re out there: your legacy still resonates buddy!
We’ve now seen about 10 Green party signs on front lawns. Going by the calculations of Kyle, our polling captain; this means the Greens have roughly 10 times the presence of our conservative friends. In fairness, we did spot our first Conservative lawn sign today. It was leaning dangerously to the right, and if it hadn’t been for the strong breeze coming in from the west, it would have completely collapsed. We actually ran into a Green party worker on that very same street. The other folks tell me he was a nice guy, but I wouldn’t know. I only talk to folks with seats in the House.
And now, if I may, a public service. Here’s some wisdom about timing and attractive women I learned today. It is never a good idea to be standing on a doorstep while telling a colleague on the street about how “funny it is that attractive women can reduce you to a bumbling idiot” just as another attractive woman is opening the door behind you. Not even James Bond could quip his way out of that one… maybe James Bowie could.
Sotos, our Golden Greek of political campaigning, had much better luck. He found a note waiting for him at a door with the name and phone number of a mysterious lady. Some thought she wanted a Richard Mahoney lawn sign, some thought she wanted Sotos, but we’re all certain it’ll be entertaining when Sotos calls her to find out. Maybe it was Doris. Perhaps they can go a courtin’ in her Studebaker and catch a moving picture show after some fox-trotting with the young’uns.
Overheard Campaign Question That The Media Won’t Ask Of The Day: “Mr. Mahoney, if elected, how would you end The Great Depression?”

"3,000 eh? That's the same number of birds I boffed at McGill... and that was just first fuckin' year."

Priceless. I'm stunned.
