What? No group of death? What about Italy, America and the Czech Rep. all in one? Three world class teams, I'd call that a group of "death". But hey, I couldn't be more happy, being in Poland for the year, and for the World Cup, and Poland draws my team, Germany! I'm just a few hundred kilometres away from the German border, it's gonna be a riot!!!
I love the World Cup, it probably the greatest sporting event in the world. I dont really have a favorite, but I would love to see Germany win it on home soil, or England..because I identify with its players, being a HUGE soccer fan that I am. As long as Brazil doesn't win Ill be happy. Italy, Germany and especially England are all overdue for a WC. I think Argentina and Spain are really good teams as well they could make some noise, but I like it when an underdog country makes it far, like Croatia in 2000, they got into the final four.

I read somewhere (can't remember where) one commentator was saying there was no Group of Death... maybe a couple of Groups of Extended Hospital Stay, but no Group of Death. I thought that was at least somewhat humourous.
I think he was talking about the Italy, USA & Czech Republic group and the Argentina, Netherlands and Serbia group... both of those look fairly tough.
Anyway, I'll probably root for England because I do identify with their players, and because Ireland didn't qualify. Should be interesting, regardless.
my dad's english, and i've grown up watching "football", and i've been to england many times..so yes..i will be rooting for the lads!!
