I was just thinking of this this morning, the past 4 years I have been in Nursing school, surrounded by women who are well educated, so there was alwasy discussion and remembrance of this tragic event. Im now in california, and I doubt if anyone here has even heard of this.

I was actually going to put a post about this up today. It's great to see that people still remember.

very sad indeed... and hard to forget about when it's the same day as your birthday...

This would explain the flags being half-staff today at work. I was trying all day to figure it out. Such a sad tragedy, those poor families this must be a really hard day for them, my thoughts are with them.

I'll actually go on record as saying this was the darkest day in Canadian history. Hopefully people took some time out to think about the meaning of this day, and how there's a lot more work to be done to end the inequalities with gender.

As sad as this tragedy is, I don't think that the flags were at half-staff today because of it. My guess would be that they were because this is also the anniversary of The Halifax Explosion.

I work at Canada Post and Im not sure what there thinking would be, it should be for both.
