Canadian Geographic is planning a special music issue that will hit newstands in Jan/Feb 2006. The stories will explore the "geography of music, from Bhangra in British Columbia to rock on, well, The Rock."
Prior to publication, they are compiling a list of the "50 definitive songs about Canadian places. Whether they’re about city streets or mountainscapes; whether they’re country, opera, alternative or reggae — your suggestions will help [them] compose the ultimate geographical playlist."
Bobcaygeon and Wheat Kings are the two Hip songs that instantly spring to mind for me. What Hip songs would you choose?

This issue is now out. 100th Meridian made the cut for the Hip.
I'm surprised Bobcaygeon didn't. But I can appreciate the editors' problem. "No," shouts Rick Boychuck, "for the 100th time, this is 'The Music Issue' not 'the Hip Issue!' We need diversity!"

yup :thumb: thats what I love about him, he's penned some pretty deadly stuff about Canada
hock: i've heard alot of his music, and the guys written alot of music, and I think in every song he's written it contains a person place or event dealing with Canadiana in 1 way or another. I love his version of I've been everywhere from a gig at the HorseShoe Tavern, he reels off all these towns from Canada :thumb:
