I purchased the Live 8 Toronto DVD as it was a great concert, I had a great time at it and of course wanted the DVD to keep for many years.

But I was disappointed when I got home and opened it up. Since it said Toronto on it I assumed it meant the complete Live 8 Toronto show would be on the DVD to watch. But no, it was just 1 or 2 songs from each artist. Why would they release a Toronto Live 8 DVD with songs missing??? I can see that not all the songs make it to Live 8 Live 8 DVD cause no one wants an 18 dvd set but come on it was specific to Toronto.

As well the dvd was labeled TORONTO!!

I said Toronto in my post only cause the dvd did but the show was in BARRIE Ontario. Why can't they say BARRIE it WAS NOT Toronto.

Ah well. Hip were awesome at Live 8 by the way, Dan Akroyd joining them was awesome.

I haven't picked this up yet, but I will. And I imagine that they cut some tracks because there is only so much space on a DVD. In order to show all of the songs performed by all of the artists in Barrie you would probably need to make it into a multiple DVD set... which would drive the cost up dramatically.

And they say Toronto because more people know what and where Toronto is compared to Barrie; it's all about marketing and sales!

most bands only played a couple of songs anyway, so how much was really cut.

My point was that this was a specialized DVD and since the bands only played a few songs they would have been able to put out the Toronto DVD with the full set.

And there was a lot cut out. I remeber most of the time was taken up by the switching of the bands.
