I know this is asking a lot from memory, or possibly, from pre-existing lists, but as a major fan of the Hip (but only became one about two years ago), I was wondering a few thigns about the videos the Hip have made over the years.
1. What order were the music videos released in from each album?
2. Did they chart on the MuchMusic Top 30 Countdown? If so, how far on the Countdown did they get?
3. What Hip singles have been released without accompanying videos?
4. In general, how big of a hit were the Hip singles/videos?
I know this is asking a lot, but thanks in advance

If you look at the top of the website where it says "sights and sounds" it will tell you all the videos in chronological order
here you go <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.hipbase.com/index.php?page=sights-videos">http://www.hipbase.com/index.php?page=sights-videos</a><!-- m -->
as for question 2....forget it, who could remember that?
and for question 3, as far as I know no single has been released without a video, Im not 100% on that one, but I think its true.
and fourthly, Im not sure how to answer this, I mean look at the fanbase and number of albums sold, obviously people liked the singles enough to buy millions of albums, most people here are big fans of the videos of course, this is after all the Hipbase. And everyone has their favorites personally I love the Hip's videos they are some of my all-tme favorites, thats half the reason I bought Hipeponymous was to get those videos on dvd. I think video has become less important now, and especially since muchmusic sucks major ass and hardly ever plays them anymore, hell I cant remember the last time I saw a Hip video on MM or MMM.

Off the top of my head - I do not think Silver Jet and Summer's Killing Us were ever videos.
Silver Jet has a video! Summer is killing us does not, but was it even released as a single? I thought Vaccination Scar and Nashville are the only two "singles" from IBE?

summer was a single, as was Gus...we play them both quite a bit
I had a feeling that Gus was the other one, I didn't know SKU was one, I haven't heard it on the radio myself, but fm96 would rather play photograph by nickelcrap a hundred times before playing a Hip song. I hear more Hip on the classic rock station than I do the rock station.
no threat has no video........................yet
was lake fever considered a single??

a no threat video would be cool, maybe gordie washing windows on a skyscraper singing..lol
If Lake Fever wasn't a single, then what was? (besides my music @ work obviously)
i dunno if it was a single, but springtime in vienna from live between us, was played on the radio a LOT when that was released, but regretabbly no video
i never paid attention, so i'm not able to answer question 2 & 4 :rambo:
Idunno if Gus was a single or not, but here in Winnipeg it got hella popular at one point.
I've never, ever, ever heard Nashville on the radio yet.
I wonder if No threat will be made into one simply because it is on the compilation. I have not heard it here in the states yet...except at my house & in my car.

we play nashville, but sadly without the Fucks in it!! :thumb:
Freak Turbulence didn't have a video, and I'm pretty sure it was a single.
I've heard the following songs on mainstream radio (as opposed to university stations) more than once, and they each have no video:
Boots or Hearts, Cordelia, Twist my Arm, Three Pistols, Born in the Water, Looking for a Place to Happen, Scared, Fireworks, Lake Fever, and Summer's Killing Us. I'm fairly confident the last three songs were singles. Some of the first seven may just have been DJs getting their kicks or fulfilling their CanCon obligations.
Cheers,
John
I'm almost positive that Lake Fever was a single. I know that SKU was and someone mentioned Gus as well, though I haven't heard Gus on the radio all that much. Here's hoping No Threat gets a video!!
