Share your Hip memory

The Whig-Standard
Local News - Wednesday, October 19, 2005 @ 07:00

The Tragically Hip has rocked for 20 years, made 10 studio albums and sold six million discs. On Nov. 1, Gord Downie, Gord Sinclair, Rob Baker, Paul Langlois and Johnny Fay will release a two-CD greatest hits package titled Yer Favourites and a two-DVD boxset titled Hipeponymous.

To commemorate the Kingston band’s greatest hits, The Whig-Standard invites you to share your Hip memories with us.

Maybe you fell in love while slow dancing to Long Time Running.

Or perhaps you didn’t discover the Hip until you went to the Across the Causeway concert last year.

Whatever your story, we want to hear it.

Please send us your 200-word Tragically Hip reflections by e-mail to

Include your name, daytime telephone number and city. No attachments please. Submissions are due by Sunday, October 23.
Cool, thanks Chris.

Some of the contributors (http://www.geocities.com/stephendame/stories.html) have decent tales to tell, but I'm guessing the guys with last summers: "the boys just showed up and started playing a song they've never played live before... around our campfire" might just take the cake.
