In all honesty, Esthete was merely offering up something that annoys him (the neighbor's barking dogs) in a clever response to Douglas.

Douglas then proceeded to make a personal attack, to which Esthete had a retort.

I certainly don't feel any more surly than I am naturally disposed to being, but if do I seem grumpy of late, chalk it up to:

1) The Cincinnati Reds' complete and utter ineptitude down the stretch amidst a divisional & wildcard race

2) The looming dread that a substantial percentage of the upcoming Hip tour's attendance will consist of "chaperones"

3) Mealy muttloaf
