What are the best movies you've seen lately? I'd have to say Steve Griffin: The Untold Story, Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children, and it's not that new but Revenge of the sith...I guess I don't watch enough movies...

Charlie And The Chocolate Factory...
wasn't incredible, but i liked it, i only went because the Mrs. wanted to see it, but i love Burton and Depp, and neither dissapointed, definately worth seeing.

For me at the moment it has to be The Hitchhikers (don't continue this long debate please) Guide to the Galaxy.
And I watched Clerks again the other night after getting the 10 year edition, still cheap, but still very funny.

i just saw proof and it was pretty good...not a big paltrow fan but she was excellent in it...also flightplan is pretty good too

Saw The Interpreter last night with Nicole Kidman and Sean Penn. Wasn't expecting much but it was actually pretty good.
That and I saw Monty Python: The Meaning of Life for the first time and laughed pretty hard! Yes yes, I know I am a loser for not seeing it 10+ years ago!!

Just watched the A&E 3-hr special called Shackleton starring Kenneth Branagh. It was amazing. Anyone interested in Antarctic expeditions gone wrong should definitely see this. It was literally a spartan Antarctican walk for many days...and yes, they saw some emperor penguins.

watched Closer again and as provacative as it is, it's still a great movie
also watched "A History of Violence" last night... umm... different than I had expected, but I thought it was pretty cool nonetheless.

Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.
Both with Ralph Fiennes in prominent roles, both brilliant, but otherwise nothing alike.

I've always liked Wallace and Gromit, I think because of my British grandparents watching it years ago. "Chicken Run" was fun. The new one looks cute.

I read on the internet that the Wallace & Gromit warehouse/studio in London burned down and is a 100% total loss. It contained every figurine that was used to produce the shows and movies from its humble beginning to the popular vehicle it is today. Not only were the figurines lost, but every award the show has won were lost also. The fire happened on the day the new Wallace & Gromit movie was released in the U.S. and immediately went to #1.
The creative genius behind the show, (I don't know his name), said it is a personally devastating loss, but very insignificant in comparison to the suffering of those living in the aftermath of the earthquake in Pakistan and India.

Lord of War- one of the best movies I've seen this year. Powerful, funny, sad, and frightening all at the same time. It's one of those movies where you couldn't imagine anybody other than Nick Cage in the role. He's perfect.
Serenity- Saw this last Sunday. Best sci-fi film I've seen in ages! It's got a great story, cool dialogue, solid acting, kick-ass special effects, and best of all it's got this really great sense of adventure, which is something that NONE of the dreadful Star Wars prequels had. This movie deserves to be made into a trilogy, and I hope they do it.
High Tension- certainly not the best movie by any means, but it's definitely one of the most shocking. Easily the most over the top gore-fest I've seen in quite a while. If you like your horror movies dark and gruesome (ie..Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Saw), this one's for you. The ending is totally ridiculous and doesn't make a lot of sense, but everything leading up to that is pure horror gold. Lots of spurting blood, decapitations, gratuitous nudity & masturbation scenes, and unnecessary use of a buzz saw. It's definitely not for the faint of heart, but if you can get past the guy having sex with the severed head, you'll be fine.

Just watched "Fletch Lives" yesterday, one of the funniest b-movies ever! Sorry but I haven't watched anything new for a while, nothings really caught my eye lately.
