not to proud to say, but man enough to say that I bought two tickets for my wife and I to see Mr. BJ since she was woman enough to come with me to Cleveland to see our beloved Hip in 02. Funny thing is, neither one of us knew she was pregnant at the time with our first kid. I owe her this concert I guess...

Yeah that was priceless..love that Triumph!
Triumph: "Jon, I hear you're appearing in an upcoming movie where you play a vampire."
Jon Bon Jovi: "That's true."
Triumph: "Finally, a role that REQUIRES you to suck."
Maybe I was too harsh earlier, I take it back Bon Jovi is a good band....
FOR ME TO POOP ON!!!!!!!!
There aren't too many bands that have sold as many albums as Bon Jovi. I think everyone is a BON JOVI fan and those who say they aren't are closet fans. Don't get me wrong, I like the HIP better, but in my entire life I've never heard anyone say anything bad about the songs "Living On A Prayer" , "Bad Name" or "Blaze of Glory" and "Have A Nice Day" grows on you.
As for the prices.... You will notice this is NOT a Bon Jovi thing... their prices have gone up the same as all the other big name acts everywhere. I paid more for my Aerosmith tickets. The cost of gas, the biiger stages/shows with bigger staffs is a factor and I assume the wages of the massive crews has gone up....

Who cares how many albums they've sold? Thats just means there are 50 million morons out there. Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys sell millions of albums too does that make them any more respectable and credible? If you equate albums sales to talent and creativity your way off. And Im sure no closet fan..Living on a prayer sucks, bad name sucks and blaze of glory sucks. There now you've heard someone say something bad about those songs for the first time in your life! Have a Nice Day grows on you? Yeah like a painful cancerous tumor maybe, everytime I hear that song I want to rip my ears off. I guarantee you I could name 1000 songs that are better than any of Bon Jovi's hits. But hey what's my opinion worth, I'll just go back to listening to Led Zeppelin, The Hip and Pearl Jam.

I loathed Bon Jovi in whatever benighted year he first inflicted himself on our culture, and unlike most cheese, he hasn't improved with age.

LOL.. Couldnt agree more. I just can't believe how he thinks everyone is a fan and if they say they aren't they must be a closet fan. Like Bon Jovi is so great and talented that it must be true..

cratch: Who are you trying to kid with that bullshit. Dont ever call me a Bon Jovi fan again!
Wow. I guess that's how I'd react if someone called me a John Secada fan.... Oh and what's wrong with Brittany Spears? As das_hips has pointed out on here before you're always going to sound intolerant when you argue music. Whether or not you respect a band and wheter or not you are intolernat of said band's fans is the issue. If you don't respect a band's accomplishments and their abilities when they have had so much sucess then the opinion is bias.
You might want to randomly pull out some old Billboard charts, and see how many songs you actually recognize. Then look at what has stood the test of time. See how much of it made the charts.
Number of records sold, number of hits, blah, blah, blah ... none of these things means a damn thing. Art and commerce ain't the same creature. Stephen Foster died penniless, but you know his songs even if you don't know his name.
You think Bon Jovi will stand the test of time? Fine. I don't have a crystal ball, and I'm all out of predictions. But in the here and now, my critical opinion is that he's a purveyor of worn-out crap.

How did you expect people to react? You came on here and posted that "everyone" is a Bon Jovi fan, everyone includes me so Im just trying to set you straight. And Skippy your right on the money here, I couldnt agree more, records sold and number of hits dont mean a damn thing as far as Im concerned. And if someone loves Bon Jovi and there music makes them happy thats great, just dont use words like everyone next time you decide to post about some washed up pieces of shit like BJ. Otherwise I wouldnt have said a word about it.
Peace to you patiodweller, I hope life is good to you.
