I donated 100 bucks earlier today..it's such a great cause, and such a joy to actually be a part of it..after my donation, i issued an on-air challenge to all hip fans to make a donation as well...five bucks..ten...100..whatever...just thought i'd leave it out there for everybody...i know times are tough..here's a blurb about what it's all about...





(Kamloops, BC) – Kamloops, BC is a community with a heart. From 6 AM to 6 PM on September 27 and 28, Kamloops’ own B100 Radio will host the B100 Variety Children’s Radiothon for a third consecutive year. This successful fundraising event is held in support of Variety – The Children’s Charity, and has raised almost $65,000 for Variety’s projects in the Kamloops area.

“B100 is pleased to be involved with Variety for a third year,” stated Doug Collins, operations manager for the station. “We’re a company that believes very strongly in family and children, and the staff of the radio station are a great team that look for opportunities to help their community.“

Greg Shannon and Cheryl Blackwell from the B100 Morning Buzz, along with announcers Daniel Earl,Steve Ayres, Rick Chapman, and the whole team at B100 give all they have, personally and professionally, to help Variety raise money for children with special needs in the Kamloops area.

“We’re so happy to have B100 host this event for us again,” said Anne Crittenden, president/chief barker of Variety - The Children's Charity of BC. “Kamloops is a wonderful community and we couldn’t do this event without the help of the volunteers that live here and the B100 staff.” Variety is also pleased to have the support of the Kamloops Daily News and CFJC TV7.


Variety – The Children’s Charity is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to raising funds to inspire hope, enrich lives, and build a better future for BC’s children. Since 1965, Variety – The Children’s Charity has raised more than $120 million for BC’s children with special needs. In Kamloops, Variety has helped more than 80 individual children and their families as well as funded project at the Variety Special Care Nursery at the Royal Inland Hospital, Kamloops District Society for People In Motion and the Kamloops Therapeutic Riding Association.
