In which video game?

I can't see Tampa repeating. Sean Burke? John Grahame? C'mon!

I have to say the Sens look good, but will Hasek last the whole season? Or will he quit when something doesn't go his way?

Philly? Puh-lease. Get used to reading this Philly fans: Peter Forsberg, IR.

The west is wide open. Hell, even the Canucks could threaten. Oh wait, Dan Cloutier is still there? Sorry, I take that back.
Forsberg wins the MVP!

The Sabres make the Playoffs. I don't know about the conference finals but that would be sweet!!

How? An 85-goal game before he gets injured?

(that was for cferneyh)
My question is, How well does Hasek do for the Senators this year? And how does Radek Bonk do for the Habs?
I'm a Leafs man, but there is a serious lack of Oilers in here. Check out their roster, they will prolly go far this year.
This will be the year when the Sens FINALLY beat the Leafs. I'd say they're due. I'm gonna go ahead and predict the first all-Canadian final since 1989: Calgary vs. Ottawa.

The Sens won't be able to contain Iggy or defend against the Flames' punishing forecheck. Calgary wins the Cup in 6 games. And just like last year, I think we'll see Kipper serve up a lot of these this season:

Uh, who is gonna put the puck in the net for the Oilers? If a defensive centre like Peca is your #1, methinks you are offensively challenged.
Habs will make the playoffs, probably lose in the 2nd round...if we make it to the conference finals though we're goin all the way. whoever said we don't have enough talent is a moron, or extremely biased...Montreal is the kind of team the should thrive in the "new nhl".

i think this year could be the year the leafs get knocked off by the sens, if they hook up that is...both teams have ?'s in goal though, if Belfour or Hasek can't stay healthy they're both fooked.

Bruins and Flyers will choke despite their stacked teams...

and finally, if i had to pick one team right now to win the cup, I'd go with Calgary...they've got one hell of a team,

oh yeah, Crosby will light lamps all year long thanks to the newly installed shootout...
anyone know if the shootout goals in the reg. season count towards your goal total?
farmerdan69 Wrote:anyone know if the shootout goals in the reg. season count towards your goal total?

As far as I know, no they don't (nor should they) and they don't count against the goalie either.
farmerdan69 Wrote:anyone know if the shootout goals in the reg. season count towards your goal total?

They won't count.

One scoring change is that goalies will no longer get "L's" for OTLs. The NHL is adding the OTL to goalie stats.

Will a shootout loss also count as an OTL for goalies? or will their be a separate stat for that too.

Also: standings? Let's say in the first ten games, the Leafs win (8-0 over Ottawa on opening night), lose, lose in OT, lose in a shootout, and then win the next six. Is their record 7-1-2 or 7-1-1-1

I'm not going to say that the Blue Jackets are going to win the Cup or anything, but if Denis can stay consistent in the net, I'm predicting playoffs for this team. We have Rick Nash... jealous?
Anyone want to put their money where their mouth is? I run a pool once a year, and post it on www.officepools.com

I usually get about 50 people. It's a salary cap pool, so basically you just have to buy your required players without going over the limit. $10.00 to enter.

I've attached the pool. Oh yeah, and make sure to check both sheets in excel. There are 2 pages for this pool.

Dude, Ethan Moreau, Ryan Smyth, and Radek Dvorak. These players may not be individually outstanding, but as a team they will help rack up a ton of points. And lets not forget Chris Pronger, arguably the best offensive D player in the game...
