Gas prices are not going up at midnight tonight. The news is reporting that it was all a panic started by us , the consumer and spread throughout the country. Some Places are charging more because of demand, but 95% of the pumps ive seen are still at 104.9 and according to officals they have no intention on raising the prices.
Well, some guy who works at a gas station here just called in to power 97 to confirm that gas prices are going up and the last price he heard was $1.70 (that's here in the 'peg). Thank god I filled up earlier today.
I just filled up at Shell in the Peg for 1.00/ltr :thumb: , the guy at the counter said serveral other locations raised their prices between 1.70-1.79....

You have to wonder how much of the price gouging and price raising is being implemented by gas station owners and wholesalers, not the gas companies themselves. This is the perfect opportunity for the wholesalers to take advantage of the fear of higher prices and panic buying.
Pretty sad that as another Category 4 Hurricane bears down on the gulf coast threatening lives, hospitals, homes, schools, etc., all we worry about is how it will affect the cost of putting fuel in our goddamned cars.

Way to go, Grace. :thumb:

And the liberals accuse the right of being egocentric....
Hey, that's a fun game, Esthete! I bet I can play, too:

"Pretty sad that as people starve around the world, all people can worry about is a hurricane hitting one of the world's richest, best-prepared nations."

But I bet someone can top that. Think of all those alien species being wiped out by supernovae right now!
It's all Bush's fault...
everything is bush's fault
