what a show! i'm not gonna review it, because you guy's locked my thread to sell my extra ticket, so :p, if you weren't there, sucks to be you. i had no problem selling my ticket, and i didn't even charge up the anus for it either cuz i was in a good mood, and i met a guy that came from Northern Ireland just to see them, so i sold it to him for $100, and quite possibly in the best display of karma ever, I MET THE EDGE 1 MINUTE LATER! HE AUTOGRAPHED MY TICKET AND WISHED ME HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brining the thread back to the subject at hand (although Go WIPTY is an excellent slogan - the new WWJD), I was also at the U2 show in Toronto last night. The lady and I were up in Section 320 which is right beside the stage - fantastic seats!! Musically, the show was flawless, except for the band being unable to segue into 40 at the end. Bono forgot the lyrics to Yahweh, but picked up and went on. Bono has a voice that is much more rich and full than a lot of their studio stuff reveals. The crowd sing-a-long at the end of I Still Haven't Found was awesome and the ovation following Streets was absolutely deafening. Great, great show. We bolted out when it was over and beat the traffic onto the Gardiner. Got home to Niagara in less than an hour!! Awesome night.
All I want to know is if they played Vertigo twice...

They didnt play vertigo twice either on Monday which was nice.

I got totally turned off going to see this one when I read that on Monday, Bono kept giving shout outs to his celebrity fans in attendance...that's really lame if true. To top it off, except for the floor, all lower bowl tix are $175....that's insane. For that price you could have got tix to Pearl Jam in Toronto, Hamilton and Kitchener.

Thank God they seemingly have stopped playing Vertigo twice per show... I think I temporarily went insane when I found that out, swearing to never purchase anything U2-related again, and so on and so forth...but hopefully they've seen light...
and before anybody gets on their high horse, even celebrities make mistakes too...No, I haven't written any great songs or sold any records, but I don't think that eliminates me from criticizing the band, even if they are one of the great bands of our time.

yes there are seats behind the stage, Bono turns around every so often and faces them. Its the same set up as the elevation tour. The only thing that will such is when they lower the light bulb screeen and it will annoy you.

I agree with you, talking about celebs in the crowd can be annoying and not really useful. But PJ shouldnt be let off easy. I love them to but last time I saw them at the Molson Amp in '03 Eddie took enough time ripping on Bush and all the terrible things he has done. I thought that was a waste of time too. Its like, you hate Bush, we get it, now play me some more songs.

I think I'd have to leave & go to the box-office and demand my money back. They're all in Toronto for the Film Festival and they're comp'd the best seats and suites in the ACC. Sucks.

Built across two floors the apartment is one of the finest in the city with spectacular views and several hot tubs. Bono was originally supposed to stay in the plush suite but Madge used her charm to get in before him.
He wasnt the only Irish name at the world famous festival, with several stars of Patrick McCabes Breakfast at Pluto jetting in for the screenings.
The film is packed with Irish acting royalty and counts Cillian Murphy, Liam Neeson, Brendan Gleeson, Bryan Ferry and Stephen Rea amongst its stars.
Gavin Friday even pops in for an appearance as leader singer of a glitter band.
Other Hollywood greats who graced the red carpet included Johnny Depp, Susan Sarandon, Kirsten Dunst and Orlando Bloom.
But neither Bono nor Madonna paid much attention to the other celebs. While Bono sorted out his accommodation worries, the mother-of-two sent out her security staff to sniff out some eateries around the city.
Despite telling reporters that she was fine after her accident, she had to be helped up the restaurant steps by her hubby. He was really taking care of her, said Pierre Jutras about her hubby. The co-owner of the restaurant Nectar co-owner said that Richie was a real gentleman.
But after her earlier stunt its unlikely that Bono thinks Guys wife is a lady.
