I went to the Saturday night show. I got there about half way through Slaon's set. I was near the back for most of what I saw of Sloan and the sound wasn't very good from that far back, but I dunno how it sounded closer to the front.
Finger Eleven put on a great show! They were the main reason that I went to the show. They opened up with a cover of Pink Floyd's Welcome to the Machine, and played most of their better known tunes. I was hoping for maybe a Rainbow Butt Monkeys tune, but like every other time I've seen them, they didn't play anything from the RBM days. They played a new song that they have been working on, and the guitarist played a double neck guitar on this one. It took me a while to realize that the top neck was a 6 string guitar and the bottom neck was a 4 string bass. He played most of the song on the guitar, but played the solo part on the bass (which sounded really cool with his distorted guitar tone.) These guys had a ton of energy! The one guitarist was swinging his guitar all over the place and playing it over his head (and pretty much every which way but the normal way of playing!)
Our Lady Peace came on, and IMO couldn't follow up Finger Eleven's set. Raine's vocals on older stuff like Starseed and Naveed didn't sound good at all. We left near the end of Naveed, so we could catch the shuttlebus back to the parking lot before the big rush started. I've seen OLP 5 or 6 times, and I wasn't really impressed at all this time. The highlight of their set was a song about George Bush. At the start of the song, Raine said something like "Fuck George Bush" and then I heard some guy yell out "you shouldn't use your celebrity to spread political propaganda!" I had to chuckle a little when I heard that.
Overall, I would say that Finger Eleven stole the show (the crowd around me seemed to agree, cuz they were totally dead for OLP.)
I was talking to friends that were at the Friday night show, and I guess the singer for Simple Plan got smoked with a full bottle of water and had to leave to get stitches, so their set got cut short (I guess that's what Simple Plan gets for going onstage after Sum 41.)
