I read West's comments last night at work, and while his tact left something to be desired, he's probably more right than wrong.
I have to disagree. He's a dink. He may be right. He may very well be right. I'm not taking issue with that. His timing was entirely wrong and undignified. He is supposed to be performing to help raise money to aid the people that are still dying in New Orleans - not furthering his political agenda.
Poor Mike Myers, he is like WTF? But alot of what Kayne is saying can not be argued.

All I know is, I've seen next to NO white people on the coverage I've been watching...Jesse Jackson essentially said the same thing. George Bush doesn't hate black people, but he has a funny way of showing them love. And by showing them love, I mean showing them nothing.
How fast did the Americans get food, supplies and shelter to the Tsunami victims? A hell of a lot faster than it's taken to get food, supplies and shelter to people in his own country.

I think Kanye is off his rocker, personally. The whole political class is nattering about how Bush and FEMA were at fault for the slow response in aid, yet they are not pointing out that the city and state officials also dropped the ball in terms of logistics for evacuation, police response, etc and Nagin and Blanco are Democrats. Personally, it doesnt matter what political party was in charge because there were mistakes made at every level; local, state and federal. To single out Bush as " not caring about black people" is emotional stupidity from a celebrity who hasn't been as poor or experienced as much suffering as the victims of New Orleans have been that he pretends to speak for.
