I thought I'd give everyone an update of the goings' on in Moncton thus far. I'm a local and was hanging out downtown this evening having some dinner and a few drinks at Doc Dylans. As I was stuffing my face with a delicious chicken quesadilla I saw a familiar face walking down Main st ... the one and only Robbie Baker! He was on the other side of the street so I didn't get a chance to chat him up, but he was just walkin' downtown with a couple of friends. Very cool, just a regular guy, no entourage. I also saw the lead singer of Maroon 5 (his name escapes me at the moment) get mobbed by a bunch of 15 year old girls... hilarious!! Mick, Keif, and the boys were also downtown but staying out of site.
The city is really coming alive this weekend, lots of people are in town already with tonnes more arriving tomorrow (obviously). I'll be online Sunday morning with a full report of the show.

That's hilarious! There was a mention of quesadillas earlier in this thread and all I could think of was Napoleon's grandmother going "Make yourself a dang quesadilla!" (with accent on the l's).
Here's my abreviated(sp?) summary of the Hips set.
The Hip put on a GREAT show in Moncton on the 3rd, the boys were pumped to be playing for such a huge crowd and it showed. For the first three acts 3/4 of the crowd were sitting down on blankets enjoying the beautiful day and the tunes... when the Hip took the stage everyone was on their feet... 80,000 strong. Amazing!
I don't remember the exact order of the songs played so go easy on me, it went something like this...

I may have omitted a song or two because my short term memory isn't what it used to be... heh heh heh. I was about 15 rows back on the right hand side of the stage during their set, the sound was great, most of Gords rants were audible... in the past I've found that they get lost in the murky sound of an arena, not on this night.
A little disapointed there was no Henhouse or IVL content, but overall a great show!
