LOL....as a person who dislikes leafs FANS (outspoken ones), I can say I am happy they have Lindros and happy Cujo moved down south.

Now they have a glass centreman and no cujo in net

Yeah, because Cujo is such an awesome goalie. The Leafs completely fell apart when he left and the Wings won all those Cups with him. :roll:

As for Lindros I said it before and I'll say it again: Lindros at $1.55 million is a much better gamble than Forsberg at $5.75 million.

Yeah, Cujo sucks. The Leafs didn't miss out on net getting him.

Lindros is worth the risk IMO also. He may get hurt but he was the best option for the Leafs. They got Allison, Lindros, and O'neill CHEAP and all three have POTENTIAL to be very good. I'm sure Toronto fans remember a few years ago where O'neill was a major reason the Canes eliminated the Leafs. I think O'neill could be the steal of the offseason for the Leafs.

The Canucks just signed Cloutier to a two year deal so they officially take the cake for stupid moves by a GM. Well, maybe they're second behind Montreal for signing Kovalev to a ridiculous contract that he will never live up to.

Where in my post does it say, lying unconscious face down on the ice? Im thinking like the time Scott Stevens pasted him at the blue line for doing what Lindros always does, keeping his head down, if the same thing happened again and he couldnt play hockey again Id be cool with that, Ive never been impressed by him since day 1. He whined about playing for Quebec and that really irked me, and yeah Ive held a bit of a grudge since, but what has he really ever done? Not much imo.

Kovalev is a nice fit with Koivu and Zednik, and as of late (playoffs, world cup, world championships) he's been looking like the Kovalev of old.

Montreal didn't make any big moves, but i like the fact that they got rid of Briesbois, he was making way too much money. Dandenault came cheaper and should be every bit as good.

I'm happy that they signed Plecanek, i could see him on the 4th line with Begin and Dowd

Rumour has it that JF JR is looking to get Scott Stevens in Toronto, for a couple of reasons. 1, because of his head troubles, he'd be just as cheap as Lindross, and 2, to keep him away from Lindross (therefore keeping him safe...er).

Too bad Scott Stevens hates Pat Quinn and Pat Quinn hates Scott Stevens.

We are finally getting back to the way it should be. Montreal is developing their young players. Toronto is buying up the old and used, while wasting their possible draft picks for the future. Domination is coming back to the blue blanc et rouge!

Certainly Lindros is not the player he used to be, but he can still be very effective. I think it's a great gamble.

I can't wait for the season to start, to see whether Lindros can cut it, and to see the Leafs dominate the Habs! :thumb:

He's averaged more than a point a game in his career. He won an MVP. He took a team to the Cup final (granted, they got smoked).

That's not a bad little career. It's too bad for him that the concussions, the Nordique nonsense, and his battles with Bob Clarke get more play than what he has done on the ice. But since he goes to bed at night in a pile of cash, I'm sure he's OK with how everything has turned out.

I just don't understand why people hope he gets hurt...we're not talking about a broken bone here. Just find it to be pretty sick. And he's done a lot...more than most players would ever dream...the injuries don't lessen how good a player he is, in my opinion. If Clarke had surrounded him with a half decent team, he would've won a Cup or a few of them. Look at the teams Gretzky and Lemieux had around them when they won. They were stacked. Before Eric's major injuries, he was unstoppable and perhaps, the best all around player to have ever played. Phil Esposito thinks so. Anything else is just in line with the "revisionist history" that the hockey media is writing now...Sidney Crosby, the best player to come since Mario...come on, if you don't like the guy fine, but you have to respect him and what he's done.....oh yeah, and he was presented the Hart trophy by Neil and Scott Young...how cool is that!!!
