Today we were hit with incredible thrunderstorms that dumped an outrageous amount of rain on the city.

Check out the Don Valley Parkway
[Image: loc66.jpg]<--- This is what time the image was captured at.

For non-Torontonians... the Don Valley Parkway is the main highway into downtown Toronto from the east.

Right now, there is more than 3 feet of water covering most of it.

(Edited to add pointer for time image captured.)
Chris..I'm seeing double lol, it happens..

Pretty bad huh? In my area the parks were turning into lakes, hopefully nobody got hurt.
That's a lot of water

Just read an article that said Envir. Canada posted tornado warnings for TO this afternoon, which never happens basically
Tornadoes went through Fergus, ON they said, caused some damage, hope everyone is fine
That image in my first post is "live" or as close to live as I can get. It updates everytime the page loads, and it looks like the water level is rising.

Right now, it's not raining, or storming at my place (west side of Toronto, on the lake shore) but it is incredibly windy and eerily quiet.
At work this afternoon I couldn't stop staring at the sky (my desk is right by a window). At one point it turned an eerie shade of dark greenish-black. I thought all hell was going to break loose. Strangely enough it didn't really pour down rain until about a half-hour later, but it sure came down good for a while. When I heard that there were tornado warnings and such I wasn't too surprised... it was NASTY out there!
I miss Ontario thunderstorms. Good times. Here in Calgary a thunderstorm is two bolts of lightning and a crack of thunder.
I saw those pictures of the DVD on City News at 11. Even crazier was the one they had of the Coach Canada Bus trying to "paddle the Don" so to speak.

Our roof leaked a bit, but no damage. My friends up in North York though live at Bathurst and Steeles and were worrying about what might have happend to some of the stuff in their basement storage. That corner flooded pretty badly from what I saw.

Cheers

I remember some thunderstorms at Suffield, down near Medicine Hat, that put Ontario thunderstorms to shame. And the cool thing was being able to see them coming for miles.
