swim from a half an ocean away..they walk..

How do I know this?
Well, this is a double lesson in life..

1..Don't take 4, count em, 1,2,3,4 4-year olds to go see Walk of the Penguins..

and Two..Well..I forgot what 2 was for..

Is this Tragically Hip Discussion? I'm not sure..

That's for the Mods to decide..

1.5 liters of red cheap ass Californina Cabernet is mine for the taking..
Back off..I deserve this

:rambo:
i dont get it
Swim Baby, swim to the toilet!
technically they swim to where they begin walking. Wink

March of Penguins is a great flick by the way. Maybe not with a bunch of 4 year olds in tow however.
SWIIIIIIIIMMMM

Sweet Jesus, that was unreal..
but really a great movie...but all I could think about is
"they don't listen to a damn thing I say"

The kids or the penguins??

Goulet!!!
I can't say i feel your pain, I can't even say I can imagine it; I would never in my life attempt such a task. As Clint Eastwood said (as Harry Callahan): "A man's got to know his limitations". I know mine, and I wouldn't have endured the experience.

Oh, and as for the walking part, well, it just doesn't rhyme with "women"
There is no more pain..believe me,
it's gone..far far away..

There's no place like home there's no place like Napa, I mean, home..

Night, y'all
Swim baby, not to me, not to him, just swim! And watch out for those dorsal fins!
They're "Swimming half an ocean away" - as in, not swimming HERE, but half an ocean away.
I being the penguin love that I am have always thought that about that particular line. However, it wouldn't make sense to say "And the women were Marching from half an ocean away" totally screws the rhyme scheme. And I would have to agree with people who said it was a good flick. Really great indie film.
It's not just the rhyme. Downie has this ongoing swimming/water/ocean metaphor going.
Too bad the directors/producers didn't put Emperor Penguin on the soundtrack...because I have a feeling this movie will win the Oscar for Best Documentary...and how cool would it have been to perhaps watch them performing this song in the Best Song category. I wonder what Gord's acceptance speech would have sounded like for that one??

Goulet
Oh, and another thing...their is no"devotion to the end" - they only are devoted for the sake of the puppies (or whatever a baby penguin is..) - if the puppy dies, then so does the relationship..And, next mating season, they pick another partner..

I actually was paying attention...interesting, don'tcha think?

Except it's really "devotion to the egg" Which I think is a pretty acurate description.
